I was digging through some boxes and found a full set of wheels I had bought around 3 years ago. The chrome plating is all chipped and i'd like to remove it and dye the wheels. Anybody out there know a good easy way of doing this?
Thanks for your Help,
DRF

I bought some stuff at wal-wart called "oops" and it works very well at revoving stuff like that, oven cleaner also works well.

Put some denatured alchohol on a rag, and start wiping the wheels with it. It should start coming off. Keep doing this, until it is gone.
I believe you can also use Paint Thinner.

Traxxas Nitro wash! I swear, that stuff would make a great bleach for hair, and possibly is a cure for cancer!
I have seen that stuff remove the nitro grime from wheels, and, interestingly enough, the chrome plating as well.

go to your nearest auto parts store and get some purple stuff, royal purple, pro power , etc . it will take chrome off and anodizing off alum. but do it outside , because it may smoke and the fumes are dangerous. spray the parts , wait a minute or 2, and dunk the parts in a bucket half full of water. you may want to scratch the surface with scotchbrite or 1000grit sandpaper before you spray it.

E-Z Off Oven cleaner. Removes the plating, doesn't hurt the plastic.
