Hey I was digging around and I found the remains of my first real R/C. I want to say it was a Traxxas Hawk. At least that’s what I remembered it being. Don’t have a picture unless I shoot one of just the pieces lying in a box. :)

Description:
2 Wheel drive Electric Stadium truck, white plastic for the most part. Has body mounts similar to my E-pede.

From just looking at it, it screams Traxxas.
So my first question is did Traxxas make an electric Hawk? Or what Electric stadium truck they did make in that time frame? All I seem to find information on is the Nitro Hawk, I found a parts list for a Hawk II dated ’92 from the internet. This would have been early 90’s.

Finally if there was a E-Hawk anyone know where I might find instructions so I put the thing back together?

Sounds like you have an electric traxxas hawk. It may be a blue eagle, but since you said the body mounts look like the Stampede's, it is most likely a hawk. I have a traxxas sledgehammer, and from what i remember, the instructions are almost identical for the tranny and suspension parts, the only real difference is the chassis itself. So if you can't find a hawk instruction manual, try getting a sledgehammer one. I also think that the hawk 2 was only slightly updated from the original hawk, so its instructions may help also.

Yes, traxxas made an electric hawk, I believe it had the same chassis as the rad or rad 2, so the instructions should be basically the same.

Thanks all.

Well from looking at this Pic (http://www.traxxas.com/products/electric/sledgehammer/gallery/sldgchss.jpg) it looks way different then what my chassis and that kind of look like. But I found tower is still selling the Sledgehammer Manual (currently backordered) so hopefully I can get that and put it gother (or start find out I'm missing a piece and can't get one :))

As for the Rad, Rad II, or Blue Eagle it seems Traxxas would just like to forget they ever made them. :)

The Blue Eagle has a blue aluminum chassis, ball-differential, aluminum shocks, longer suspension arms, and lighweight dished wheels.

The Hawk/Hawk II has a white nylon chassis, planetary gear differential, plastic shocks, shorter suspension arms, and recessed wheels.

The most readily identifiable difference betweent he Hawk and the Hawk II is that the HawkII has a more modern bell crank steering setup.

My friend has a Traxxas Blue Eagle from '87. He races carpet and offroad with it. First race this season he got second overall. The chassis are fiberglass on his.

He lapped the T3's twice, lost his battery, put it back in, and regained his laps, now that is a good truck.

Well If I knew what that was I'd tell you which one it was :) the steering is just a large servo saver connected to two rods like in the e-pede.

Here's a really crummy Pic (http://eepc1.unl.edu/hawk1.jpg).

Dude, that is soooo a hawk chassis, but i'm not sure about the tranny case lying in the box. It sort of looks like the traxxas pro tranny case from the blue eagle and other traxxas race cars of the day. I hope that your chassis has been modified to fit this tranny (if it is actually a pro tranny), but the sledgehammer instruction manual won't really help you build the pro tranny since the sledge initially came with the 'regular' tranny that traxxas included with many of their 'non-racing' kits, including the hawk.

Not sure either way. The chassis was white when I got it, that black one was a replacement I bought cause I broke the other.

Why I don't know much about this truck:

I got this back in the early 90's from a neighbor at the time. He and his kid used to be really big into R/C (electrics for the most), long story he and the wife split the kid went to live with his mom and he stayed around a little while longer. But anyway he moved latter and while my cousin and I were helping him pack and move he gave us most of this "left over" R/C stuff, I got a broken Clod, that traxxas truck and an Old Kyosho Viper, my cousin ended up with a complete Team Losi truck and Kyosho buggy of some type, along with a box filled with other parts as well. (Think we built another buggy or two from just the parts :))

I put most of my time (and Money) into the Clod, but last I remember I ran the Hawk thru a big mud puddle ruin all the electronics started to tear the whole thing apart to clean it and just never did.7 years later I dig it out and that's how she sits. I'm pretty sure the truck is all there minus the battery hold down, Pinion and spur gear and maybe the servo mounts. But I think those might be in another box of parts left over from my Clod.

You should fix the thing up! You could probably find some parts on the net if not in your Clod box.

I have a traxxas Hawk II.

I have the same exact chassis, except mine doesnt have all the white parts. It was my first R/C car ( i got when i was about 6-7, now 14) and i plan on keeping it :). I have all the parts fo mine, i just need a new chassis because the one i have snapped in half after some pretty big cliff jumps at the beach ;):P!

Any one know if you can still find any Hawk chassis' around?

Thanks! see ya!

Hows it goin guys? My father and I own 2 Nitro Hawks - they are both upgraded with the trx .15 and there is nothing better - they are absolute tanks. They are practically all steel and are indestructible - I still have the stock tranny/gears/servos/wheels/electronics - the only thing Ive ever broken was a turnbuckle : ). At the track it beats out the new nitro rustlers and some rc10gts : )

He was ahead of the pack by almost 2 laps! Oh no, he filps, his battery flung out onto the track. The marshall hands him his truck, he is on the drivers stand, working, fast, steady. He puts his truck back on, and is down about a lap! Will he make it?

He drives with great skill, and effort, he is gaining his laps back!

"10 seconds" the computer operator announces! Wait, he is fighting to pass one more truck, he makes it!

This was a true story from about a week ago, my friend, with his 1988 Traxxas Blue Eagle, beat about 4 T3's, and he was even doen a few laps.

Thus proving, all you need is the Right skill.
