I have not had a ofna monster pirate yet but i wanted to know if the only thing different between the blazer and the pirate are the tires because they are both 1/8th scales. I have a t-maxx that i dont really like so i went to an 1/8th scale:D

but im pretty sure that it doesn't have a gear reduction unt ,equaling high top end, but slow acceleration. And its based on the gt lx.

They are both sold thru ofna but not both made by the same companies. You can get a gear reduction kit to use the MP gears. Go to RCMT.net and go the the MB forum. Once you get to the forum you will see all the posts on the MB GT kit made by PPP. Good Luck. This kit will solve any cluthc issues that the MB has.

I melted the stock clutch really fast. If anyone is having problems with their stock clutch give ace hobbies a call and order the aluminum clutch shoes and stiffer springs. I think it was less then $25 and this truck drives much better now. Also the MP I beleive comes with a solid center diff as the Blazer center diff is open. I put diff lock lube in mine and it is just like a spool. Thinking of putting it in my rear diff. Although now I am having all sorts of problems trying to tune this thing. It sounds so weird WHEN it idles. Hard to describe. I wish I knew what it was. I am about to give up on it. It kinda has a fluctuating sound. Like you are putting your finger over the exhaust pipe really fast. If I put my finger over the exhaust for a second or so the idle will settle down and sound normal. But then about 3-5 seconds later the idle will jump back up. Also at full throttle it will bogg and then try to accelerate and then bogg again..... What gives? Too rich? to Lean? I am running an Ofna .21 4 port. FRUSTRATING!!
