I'm thinking of getting one but I'm not sure which one to get! I have an absolutely stock T-MAXX and I wanna know what else I'll need.
Thanx!:D

I don't know what the best is, possibly the Hardcore Racing one. I think they use titanium for the parts. RCCA did a review on it in like October or something. I think it comes with everything except engine, and tuned pipe.

i'd have to say go with hardcore. but find the most recent RCCA mag (i think its the feb. issue) and it has a .21 maxx truck and about 5 or 6 kits that they compare.

If you want to play with big block engines, why not spend the $260 or so and get a new Ofna Monster Pirate with a Hyper 21 engine?
That's what I did...

the supermaxx is and for a long time be the best conversion, but it's very pricey. my next choice would probably be hardcore. the r/c alloy kit also looks very nice. not to mention that it's easier to build(but get the extended brace upgrade)

no offense, but i think if u have a Tmaxx and your willing to throw around that much cash, the get a really poweful .15, the .21s eat maxx trannies(well the powerful ones) and it'd be kinda frustrating, plus from what i hear, if you just tap the throtle they do wheelies....
now im not gonna suggest MP, just because it sounds like u want a truck that is a basher outa the box....the MP is more of a car that is made for suping up and racing or bashing

pool-supermaxx if im thinkin of the right thing is a suspension system to make the maxx handle better on the track(you know, the suspension setup for the guys who do nothing but race MT because they cant hack normal racing)

home made. Me and my friend wanted a .21 maxxes but our budget is very very small so... We made our own chassis', skids,
and everything else.

http://www.monstermaxx.com/ this has all the supermaxx stuff. There not just suspension they carry a .21 chassis,Wheels,Titanium cvds.I've got there forward only gears $90,steel cvds $125,and .21 chassis $310.Supermaxx products are the best on earth.the owner is going to start making monster pirate stuff to,He already has the center dog bones in titanium.

Supermaxx is the best by far. The newest RC nitro has a complete review on the parts. I dont think that Supermaxx has ever had a dissatisfied buyer.

I don't understand, why do people go out, buy a truck, then spend like hundreds to convert to bigger engine, and stuff, when they could just get a new truck like an MP or Thunder Tiger EK-4 for less than it would be with all those conversions.

the tmaxx is awesome,What are you talking about. If i had to do it again i would.i've put almost 1,200 dollars in my truck and i would do it again, but I'm getting ready to get a ofna monster pirate.

i think awsome is a bit exaturative, they are nice, but they just werent built correctly powerwise, for that size of truck the .21 shouldve been a gimme...

heres what you do.Buy a monster pirate with engine, then go on ebay and find the front and rear suspension assemblies and make a T/MP Hybrid
Andrew the RC man
01-20-2002, 04:28 PM
naw, those hybrids dont have the ride height the stock MPs have and you hae to hack the chassis soo much.... all you do for an MP is get maxx sized tires and buy Ofna super shocks...so muh better and so much easier then making a T/MP hybrd...
SuperMaxx 21
01-20-2002, 05:22 PM
yeah they have the ride height http://www.printroom.com/_vti_bin/ViewImage.dll?userid=Nitromethane&album_id=49434&image_id=0&courtesy=1

i like my supermaxx and imo best rc out there.
Andrew the RC man
01-20-2002, 07:50 PM
but they dont have the same ride heighthey did at stock, thats my point
uhmmm best rc?? that a bit fanboy considering the only real thing i think its been good for is start some MT racing....for bashing purposes, id take an Npede over a maxx anyday, simply because the Npede is more durable
ATeam

Why put a .21 in a maxx instead of getting a MP? Because the MP is just a 1/8 buggy with big tires. Thats why.
And with robinson steel diff sets and a Rix gear forward only gear set you won't have any gear problems.
And last, another reason why to get a .21 kit instead of a MP. The guy obviously doesn't want an MP.
Andrew the RC man
01-21-2002, 05:48 PM
Ateam- actually it isnt just a big buggy, i mean the chassis is a buggy chassis(like all 1/8 monstrs) but i believe the A-arms were bulked up for the original buggy...i think the shocks were somewhat improved on, and the spur gear was changed, see not just a buggy with big wheels....but i do agree, fhe doesnt want a maxx let him do it....but i think a .21 is a waste, i think a powerful .15 would be a better buy

you've obviously never seen the picture of the supermaxx chassis holding the weight of the front end of a Toyota Tacoma pickup.
Or you've obviously never seen the waranty on supermaxx parts, or you obviously know nothing about supermaxx equipment

obviously, i dont wanna spend the price of another Tmaxx just to get the truck as durable as an Npede

He has a point. So the .21 kits and all the flashy stuff may look, and perform well, but look at how much money you're spending, and on what?! I am not trying to say how to spend the money, but it is just a bit too much how this stuff costs.

ok listen, people buy a truck the get attached tot he truck they want to make it better. they add hop ups. so basically what your telling me is that all hops in general shouldnt exsist and a consumer can buy the perfect truck right out of the box? well your lucky if your living in that world cause i aint! i used to have an mp it sucked! i hated it true it was pretty power full and pretty durable but it fails in comparison to a supermaxx. actually i had more fun wiht my stock t-maxx than my mp mostly cause it would do more! and as for the n peded os more durable than a t-maxx yea sure. the t-maxx can take an amazing amount of punishment and still come out on top. but a t-maxx then upgrade to a supermaxx and you will see what were talking about.
also andrew i said the supermaxx was the best rc ever in my opinion that dosnt mean its true its my opinion
Andrew the RC man
01-21-2002, 07:43 PM
yes, thats exactly right, the npede is stronger then the tmaxx at stock, then you talk about your beloved supermaxx that is the biggest waste of cash ever, sure its durable, but it'd be smarter to buy RPMs arms, becasuse everything breaks and those supermaxx A-arms dont have a lifetime warrentee like RPMs. also so u upgrade to supermaxx and get durability, so then ill add the HG aluminum arms, get the same durability as your awfull and awfully expensive supermaxx
also if u didnt like the MP...then your just a general newb, because thats usually the only people who dont like the MP, news who dont wanna spend 90 extra bucks for shocks and rims and tires...yet the go buy the utterly pointless .21 conversion for 200 bucks that limits them to the very least poweful engines...such a waste, id take an MP over a maxx any day, simply because a barely suped up MP could kill a suped up maxx and for half the price.
and yes ive seen the pics of the supermaxx holding up thew tacoma  photoshopped no doubt

When I read about people suggesting a MP over a T-Maxx...I just figure they have never really driven a Maxx. My ported .15 T-Maxx beat a healthy MP in a real race. We traded for a bit after the race and man that MP thing was a big HP brick...a real point and shoot style r/c....not my idea of driving. The race was close, but now I've got a .21 soooo. I can't wait to go up against an EK4.

a .21 maxx beating an ek-4? LOL! oh gosh thats hilarious! why dont you go race an indy car while your out doing the impossible...
MP a hp brick?? hmm maybe its that stock brickish body that makes that description...ugh ugly body...

01-22-2002, 07:22 PM
hey there are people running rb c4's in their maxxes and they can hit 50-55mph.,TTR ek-4 can hit 37.8mph according to rcca.my maxx was clocked at 37.2mph with a hyper.21
ATeam
01-22-2002, 09:03 PM
The EK4 from what I can gather is a real torque monster, when it can stay together. A .70 is not going to have the revs that a .15 or .21 will have.
And yes I was being a sarcastic T-Maxx fanboy, after all somebody has to combat all of the MP fanboy's in here. :D

andrew your pretty funny! im rotflmao at your posts!! oh man you might be more hilarious than george carlin!! oh man. this is funny!!
as for the ek-4 vs maxx an ek4 will beat a maxx in a dead drag thats if the ek4 can keep it on all fours. but the ek-4 does have some serious power!! but i dont know if an rc car can take that mutch
