WHAT IS THE BIG HYPE ABOUT THIS NEW EK4 THE ENGINE ONLY HAS 2.25 HORSEPOWER, COMONE, I WAS JUST JOCKING ABOUT THE SPEED GYM THING BUT I WOULD THINK IT HAD LIKE 5 HP NOT 2.25 (LOL) WHAT MAKES IT SO POWERFUL THEN IF ITS HP IS SO LOW.

The horsepower rating is not low at all. Think about the power to weight ratio. 2.25 horsepower, to 11-12 pounds of truck, that is ALOT of power.
The power to weight ratio of a 1/8 scale on-road is higher than a F1 car, yet it only has 3 horsepower at most.

What makes it so powerful is that it has all of it's power down low. It only spins 15,000 RPM. Torque is what gets the vehicle moving. This thing is a torque beheameth.

TORQUE = POWER A 70 has a Big piston, Heavy crank, with lots of inertia = lots o torque to move big heavy objects

Let's see Last Friday...
First pulled out the MP then about 5 minutes later I hit a tree it was broke. Toss it aside "I'll fix later", grab my SFGP, 10 minutes later the tank is empty the engine is hot so time to cool. Grab my Won-Lap EP, drive it 8 minutes later the battery is dead but my SFGP is cooled off fill it up toss the battery on the charger drive the SFGP for another 10 minutes. Tank empty, engine hot again, battery charged...Switch.
I do this as offend as I can. When I head out to R/C someplace I drag as many as I have with me, a gallon of fuel and a stack of batteries.
With my Nitros if the engine is cool, good prime and two pulls they start. Back to Backs with a hot engine and you can pull your arm off trying to get the SFGP started. So the electrics entertain me while I wait for the engine to cool. Same as the Nitros entertain me while the batteries are charging.
So yeah I plan to have fun charging my batteries and starting my engines all day, cause Down time = No Fun :)
I Am E/T.

Does caps offend people, Dunn I think you've been on to long you are done.
The rest of you are so funny back and forth with the battery this nitro that, Can't we all just get along?.:D :p ;)

Why get along? It's the arguing that is fun!
Seriously, I have had 3 electric cars, all off road, one was 4 wheel drive. Since I bought my RC10GT 3 1/2 years ago, I think I have run them twice. That little electric whine just doesn't do it for me anymore. By the same token, I also don't slam electric. I had a whole lot of fun with my electric cars and I really did miss reverse (definitly a plus to the T-Maxx!). I also don't think there is any doubt that an electric car has better control (if it is using a good electronic speed control) than a nitro car. But the nitro car is always a WHOLE lot more fun for me!
I have to admit there IS one electric setup I wouldn't mind having: A nice E-Max with dual brushless electric motors and a .21 engine driving a generator keeping the batteries charged! It would sound stupid with the engine running a steady high RPM, but it would be a lot of fun getting 30 minute run times and being able to drive the truck back to you if the engine died (I would have a small 12 cell batter that the engine charged) would be killer! That would really be the best of both worlds as far as I am concerned.

It's clear Mr Caps has not seen the video of the EK4. He is probably not smart enough to download it, based on his use of grammar and caps, and the rediculous comment he made. 'Nuff said.
PS, Ace sent my motor back yesterday, hopefully should get it early next week (frikken USPS, the only thing that Canada does better is Canada Post).

Question does your so called high power speed gem do wheelies on any service and can it tug large wheels to over curbs and over Clodbuster with ease. You obviously don't understand that 2.25hp is a lot and I bet that if you put that engine in your little traxxas rustler it'll blow every gear in your tranny and then on top of that you'll be able to see just how much hp and low-end torque that the .70 has and as a matter of fact the rustler couldn't keep it's front end down for more than a second you'll be flipping over every time you tap the throttle
the awesome torque in the motor is all the hype bud!
