Can anything wih silver can 540's even touch 25 mph?
To get a Clod Buster near the level of an e-maxx, an aftermarket chassis would be needed. Thunder Tech,Esp, and NEM all make good aftermarket chassis'.

possum isn't that what i said [ if you build it right] i would like to see a race between a stock clod and a e maxx with 540 instead of 550s then they would be evenly matched

Your forgetting that the E-maxx has a 2 speed trans.

you know i had forgot about the 2 speed. ok then it would take some one to figure out which gear is even to the clod and leave it in that gear, 540s,1 battery. or you could add 550s and a evx with 2 batterys on the clod . i still think it would be a good race[hint hint rcca]

The clod buster is old, has 2 540's, 1 battery and 1 speed. The e-maxx is new, has 2 batteries, 2 bigger motors and a 2 speed tranny. Of course it's faster.

YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT!!!!
I WOULD like to see a clod [or clod child{ jug 2 txt**] take on a e maxx with the same electronics
550,evx,and 2 batteries. then we would see whats what

I know people put e-maxx trannies in Juggs, so why not do an ultimate show down? Give each person a certain amount of money for hop-ups, but make the motors and batteries mandatory, like dual bl motors.

You could make a Clod that would be better than a EMaxx, but your total cost would be triple that of the original Clod kit. By the time you add in the race chassis, shocks, speed control, motors and radio you wouldn't want to compare the two trucks due to the cost factor.
Out of the box, Maxx is RTR, comes with radio, 2 speed trans and is cheaper than the Clod kit alone. If you put your money into mods for the Maxx, it'll put it that much farther than a maxxed out Clod.

Here's my CLODZILLA, I have around $1000 in it and it doesn't even come close to an E-maxx.

MaxxHead,
Nice Clod. What kind of motors and speed control are you running. I spent a bunch on my Jugg and it looks really nice. With two 17 singles and a Super Rooster, it wasn't that impressive.

My Clods are faster than my emaxx. I am wanting to try some 6 turn motors in my E to speed it up but with 9 turns it still can't keep up with my clod. You can see pics at our web site.

It isn't even your thread, and there two different animals the two speed is a small difference compare to the others.
Money can make a clod do about 20mph alot of money will get the old Clod to about 30 plus mph.
As for the original question of this post I suggest you dont even try to compare the stock slow, tall curb climbing Clod to the swift non tall curb climbing E-Maxx.

i know that a clod can easily out pull a T maxx even with its stock 540 silver can motors. but how about one with 2 sapphires vs. stock e maxx?and of course lets see who can rock crawl better. the clodzilla 4 has 12 inches of articulation. (well mine did) and teh maxx has 6inches. and its not even solid axle. sooo its not made for crawling. its made for carving turns. and goin over bumps fast. by the way i own a t maxx and a clod zilla 4. soo this is not a biased statment.

My zilla 4 will keep up with my emaxx anyday... i PREFER my zilla to my maxx... climbs better, looks better, everything

I think you all are missing the the point.
ClodBuster = scale Monster Truck built a long time ago. Really cool for its day, but its time to retire has come and move over to the newer Jugg 2 and the brand new TXT-1.
E-Maxx = NOT EVEN A MONSTER TRUCK! Why do people keep insisting this truck is a monter truck? The E-Maxx is a stadium truck on crack. Period. When I see a 1:1 four wheel independant suspension monster truck roll out on TV, then I'll say the E-Maxx could be a monster truck. Until then, forget it.
Two trucks built for COMPLETELY different purposes.
STOP COMPARING APPLES TO BANANNAS!
Oh, and when you slap an aftermarket chassis on a Clodbuster, its no longer really a Clodbuster. It becomes a ClodZilla or something else. Nothing that is even close to a stock Clodbuster. :)

yeah hairball i totally agree with the fact that a t/emaxx is nothing but 4wd stadium truck with big tires.... and i would much rather have a clod than an emaxx because i like solid axles and the emaxx is too fast for me

NO THE CLOD CAN NOT TOUCH THE E-MAXX(A STOCK CLOD) you would spend more hopping up the clod to do the same as the e-maxx. but w/ the e-maxx you can hop it up so the clod can't even touch it. to get the monster truck look get long body posts for the front & rear.
There was a real monster truck that had independant front suspension, but it was only rear wheel drive with a solid axle in the rear. That probably doesn't count.

hey e/t phone home ok lets see if a t maxx or emaxx is still production 14 years after it was introduced . you realy think soNOT if it was not for the clod do you think the maxx would have been built??? so what if it has 2 speeds can it pull 41 lbs in stock form??????? and don't think that was a misstype rcca did a monster truck shoot out in 89 or90 and the clod pulled 41 pounds.

ok cm113 who cares that's not the topic! it's can a clodbuster even touch an emaxx?
the answer is no! if their both stock NO! the e-maxx will win!

You'd have to do events. You can't just say one truck will win over the other.
Do things like a hill climbing contest, truck pull, tug-o-war, durability, drag race, etc...
Then you could compare the two evenly. Even though they were never meant to compete against one another.
