Interestingly, at the same time that the new AP AAAA NiMH cells were introduced by Batteries America, they also began listing a new AP 9V NiMH battery, the LX8. They are both listed at 200mAh, and the dimensions of the AAAA cells are such that six of them would fit inside a 9V casing. Just as the GE/Sanyo NiCd 9V battery contains six Sanyo AAAA cells, it is possible that the new AP NiMH 9V might contain six AP AAAA cells. If true, this could result in significant cost savings -- $6.95 for one LX8 vs. $17.70 for six of the AAAA cells. If anyone happens to have an AP LX8 9V that they are willing to sacrifice to see what's inside, please let us all know what you find!

Very interesting.

One question tho'...

How much juice (current) can you draw from the cells before they start to sweat?

200mAh @ this size sounds wonderful. However, a motor/system that requires approx. 1-2A, well... - If the cells can deliver 2A+ all is OK. Still, @ this size, I suspect and fear that they deliver less.

Hopefully my fears and suspicions will turn to dust. :)

BTW, how long running time can you fellas squeeze out of 200mAh?

The new 9V NiMH (which is really 8.4 V) has 7 tiny cells inside. They are good enough to fly a Lite Stik for ~5 mins.

If you do decide to try the 9V do not buy the Eveready. They are different and do not have enough power. The RayOVac, Radio Shack and Sears branded batteries are the same made by GP and work great.
