|I want to know what rules there are for 1/10th scale 4wd TC racing. What parts are required ? What kind of bodies can I run( I checked HPI and got some ideas, but are those the only ones?) What can't I do? What classes are there? In novice do they have dfferent levels? What track is best for learning? What is the best way to learn, other than practice( GOD knows I do enough of that, I need a LIFE). Anywhere i can get this info would be great!

I dont race on-road so I cant help much, but my best advice for learning, subscribe to RCCA.

Go to my Track www.americanraceway.com There you can see what you have to have to run our touring car class. You can see some pictures and get on the forums under touring cars if you want. Let me know if this helps. I also do not run TC so I don;t really know

check out Roars website for rules.........a lot of tracks follow these....... some tracks dont some use half roar rules and make up the rest...........really depends on whos running the show.
teamblackicetc3 - Some of the more popular electric Touring Cars are the Losi XXX-S ( www.teamlosi.com ), the AE TC3 ( www.rc10.com ), RS4 Pro3 ( www.hpiracing.com ), and the new Shumacher Mission ( www.racing-cars.com ), although there are many more.
I would browse though some of those websites or ask questions right here on the BB.
Generally what you need for racing is the car ( heh.. might help ;) ), about 4 battery packs, a motor, a good radio ( try to get a programable one), and tools. For tools, get a good set of Hex Drivers, and nut drivers to fit your car. It makes it soo much easier to work on the car with the correct tools.
For classes, they generally have 4 classes. Sportsman ( begginners ), Stock, Pro-Stock, and Modified. I would suggest starting in either Sportsman if you track has it, or Stock. It will help you learn much faster than starting with Mod and breaking every other run.
Your track would be best for practice. Keep it as local as possible and practice as much as possible.
Also try stoping in the RCCA Chat room ( http://chat.rccaraction.com ). I can help you when im there ( generally 4:00-5:00 and 9:00 CST ), and the other members of the chat room should also be very helpful.
More Q?'s? Ask away :)

Settle down, just start out with the basics. The first day is a bit confusing, but after that it all comes together. Have fun.

I beleive that I have forgot to mention some details. I already race offroad at my local track and they have a touring car track. I already have a FT TC3, which means no tires, no body and I DO have a set of electronics. 4 batts ( 3 1500, 1 2000 matched ), JR XR2, Novak Atom ESC, and a mod motor, but I wanna race with a stock one, probably a P2K Pro, or another of similar quality. Sorry about not mentioning that guys. I want to know what brands are good for tires and bodies, what bodies specificaly are good for different types of tracks. And what rules there are for what you can use.

For bodies I would get a Pro-line or HPI. Pro-lines seem to be better made. I would sugest a 300M or an Honda Accord. 300M is faster but the Honda has better handling. I would have to see the track to decide. If you want more choices HPI has alot. I myself like the Subaru Impreza. I have a P2K2 in my T3 and so far I like it. Green Machine for long striaghts, P2K2 for medium, and P2K for short technical tracks. As for tires I know proline makes them for touring cars but not sure how good they are. Many compaines make rims also. I do not have a touring car but I hope to in the near future. How do you like your TC3. Good Luck racing

If you are on carpet, foam tires are a must. Otherwise I have no clue for tires. There is one body I really like, I don't know who makes it but it is an Aston Martin car and one guy has one at my track and it looks really nice and he says it is so round that it just stays on its wheels.
I also like the Honda Accord, a few people have those.
BTW: you will be fine with those 4 batts.

All I know is that I run foam tires on carpet and a dodge stratus body.

The TC3 is great! Awesome car, beats the Losi XXX-S hands-down! I have seen both, I like Losi trucks, but it stops there. I have gone and checked HPI for bodies, considered the BMW GT Series 3 or an Accord. Probably gonna get HPI tires and rims, I get a discount at my LHS.
BTW: Anyone else here play Return to Castle Wolfenstien?
