Mixing Batteries

Hi guys/Gals
Does anyone know what happends if you mix Nicd and Nimh batteries?

I have 2 6 cell Nicd packs (270 mAh) and 4 Nimh cells.
I want to add one or 2 cells to each pack.

Hi Norm,
Boy, that sounds like chemical warfare. Since the two types of cells discharge at greatly different rates one or the other will potentially reverse polarity as it runs down and get wiped out as the other cel(s) discharge through it in reverse.
