Having trouble sizing battery needed for a 6 oz. microflight. I am using the Hi-Line mini 6 which is rated at 2 amps. Am using a 2 amp speed controllor from GWS. The receiver is a GWS which operates on 4 volts. I'm using a 4 cell 110 MAH nicad pack. Whenever I get ready to launch the plane the engine cuts out. My question is: should I go to a 5 or 6 cell battery pack? And will this fry the engine or speed control if I do? Approximately how much time can I expect from this battery pack? The plane is a Luton Minor parasol of about 22" span and 100 plus inch area. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Bobmar,
It sounds like the low voltage cutoff on your ESC is activating and shutting down the motor. These GWS ESC's are dsigned for more than 4 cells. Check the posts on the Park flier section, there are several folks who have shown a reasonably simple method for disabling this feature.
