I couldn't find a thread for this truck.
I haven't got mine yet, it should be here next week.
It doesn't seem to be very popular but everything I have read about it suggests it is fast, strong, stable and reliable which are the qualities I'm looking for.
Does anyone have any advice not contained in the manual?
I have ordered a full set of bearings for it.
Does anyone have any bad experiences with the Bison, besides the low ground clearance?

Don't know why this thread was closed, but it's reopened now.

Hi,
I have had one of these trucks for over a year now, along with a few others. I have modified it and changed it's setup many times. The main problem I have with it is getting parts. None of my LHS carry parts so I have to order and wait. Watch out for the dogbones bending. Other than that the truck is fairly fast and takes a beating pretty well. I punish the heck out of mine and it keeps on going.
Have fun with it.

i know a few people that have the mad bison and the hpi NMT. The hpi in their view was overall better. It was wider so its more stable, they have the same size engine so thats no different, the dogbones don't bend as much, parts are alot easier to find (all the lhs around here carry parts for it) and it can take a beating just as bad. I mean, watch the video on the HPI site, they jump the mt over dumpsters.

theres the link but im not sure if it will work becuase of bandwith problems on hpi's site.
im not bashing the mad bison, im just saying its good competition to the hpi NMT.

I totally agree. I also have a nitro MT. The thing rocks! I have updated many of the parts on it including the motor. Picco .15.
The truck is more stable than the bison but I still like my bison also. I have converted the bison to the point that in a straight line run the NMT can't catch it. I like them both and have a ton of fun bashing them around. I guess i really don't even have a favorite, R/C's in general are just fun no matter what you are running.

I think it is great. It was to much for the stock chassis so I bought the thicker one from hpi and that helped. The stock chassis just flexed way to much. I have been told that there isn't much difference between the 12 and the 15. Most people are telling me that the picco .12 is such a hot little monster that they really can't tell the difference between the two. But I do like the .15, I have been running it for about 2 years now and it still runs strong.

My mt hold up perfectly fine with the p .12. Its has no problems and as far as i know no (or not alot of) flex. My MT is the 2002 version so i don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Not sure if it makes a difference or not either. Glad you are not having flex problems though. It was tough to find. Kept stipping spur gears even after installing slipper.
