Have you seen the Tremor and the Ripper from Thunder Tech Racing? I own a XXX Kinwald Edition and I'm thinking of selling it to buy one. The Tremor chassis alone is 380.

JordanG... That is an incredible collection. I am green with envy. I own a TXT-1 and an E-Maxx. I love the TXT and do a bunch of crawling with it. The E-Maxx was bought 2nd hand and I got it on a impulse. Big mistake. Oh, well. Your trux are really great looking!!!!!!!

Bluesy, so do you mean it was a mistake buying the E-Maxx all together, or just buying it second hand??

speedydave.... I'm not sure if it was the 2nd hand part or just the E-Maxx.... I just don't drive it that much. When I do something is always going wrong with it. It is the least reliable vehicle I have. It has stock Titan's in it and with 2400 sport packs I can only get about 5 - 8 mins of run time. I have four of these packs and can't seem to get them to dump anywhere close to each other so the truck quits when one dumps. I think I'm gonna sell it ..... too darned finicky....... Not at all like my TXT-1.... that's a great truck!!!

my tube frame was built by rcmt member karmegeddon, and it was brazed together.

o yeah, brazing is the best!the weld will hold better than the metal!is it tube? like brake fluid line for a real car?thats what i was thinking about using.

Out of all the Stock Electric Solid Axle Monster Trucks that are available for purchase.
Which one is the Absolute King of the Electric Solid Axle MT World in Box Stock Configuration ?
dont slow down
05-22-2002, 03:58 PM
definatly the tamiya txt-1. if anyone disagrees with me then they need to be shot! just kidding but i thing almost everyone will agree with me that the txt-1 is the best out of the box.
JordanG

the txt-1 is the best out of the box...
solution?...
dont buy a clod out of the box!
lol, head over to www.thundertechracing.com , visit the clod junkyard, they sell axles (aka gearboxs) alone, thats all out the clod kit you need to build an aftermarket monster anyway...or you could always use ebay or the boards here or at www.rcmt.net to find a deal on a used clod...
After you get gearboxes....you'll have to decide on a chassis, and there are literally hundreds (maybe thousands :p ) of possibilites...whatever you do, have fun! :D

well i agree with you that the txt 1 is the best box stock truck but you have to thik about the price. the clod is about 200 while the txt 1 is about 360. with that extra 160 you could buy an aftermarket chassis and the clod wound be way better than the txt1.one thing that makes the clod better is that it has the motors attached to the gearboxes. no driveshafts like the txt1. so allaround the clod is a better truck. :D

Are there any Solid Axle R/C's out there that are RTR (Ready To Run). Because I'm not into building R/C Kits that this moment in time.

Jordan dont promote rcmt they suck:p
I live RCMT, my only complaint over there is the pop-ups but I got that solved. RCMT is the source for mt's, I like these boards but i find more people over there, and its just mt's.
JordanG
06-29-2002, 02:42 PM
I like these boards as well, rcca is just so much more professional compared to rcmt.
If you are looking for a monster truck related community, check out monstermadness.net , excellent site, no pop ups, and they are monster truck related ;)
I'd like to see more pics of the members trucks here, i have a gun slinger replica tube frame clod, but it hasnt arrived yet so i cant post pics :(

Ok,
Here is my Jugg2 w/juggular conversion, just got thru doing some work on the suspicion, the L-shape brackets are from the local hardware store. Why pay for that stuff when you can make your own. Just waiting for my ESC to come in, Its a LPC V7.1 ESC.Should work pretty good, it does not have a motor limit. I will try to get some better shocks later. These should work good for now.

Clod=220+Zilla 4 chassis=370. These were the prices when i was looking at the 2 trucks. I went with the TXT.

Has anyone been to the national radio control truck pulling association (nr/ctpa) events. I currently own a e-maxx but i decided to go w/a solid axel monster for x-mas. I've chosen a TXT-1. I was wondering what would be the best events to enter. Also check out www.monstertrucks.net then go to rc/cars and scroll through the web sites to page 2 and check out nr/ctpa this site has some awsome pics.

is it possible to just buy the clodzilla4 chassis kit then buy the things i need instead of buying a clod then the clodzilla and tearing it down and rebuilding it on a different chassis? will it cost less or more? i dont care about the labor...i LOVE puting them together!
thanks alot

go to www.RC4wd.com look on the side and click on tamiya there you will find Complete unassembled Clod Gearcase Kit for $139.00 it comes with bushings so i would also get the bearing set and put those in, this would be cheaper than buying the clod for $250.00 you will also still need to buy rims and tires.

ohh you can also check ebay auctions and you may be able to find used ones, i just got a set there for $80 and they already have bearings

hey guys, I just purchased a TXT-1 that I am going to use strictly as a crawler. I want to lock both diffs. I know it will kill my steering, but at low speed and with a powerful servo I think I will be alright. Any thoughts.

Hmm, After looking into rock crawling I settled on getting the E-Maxx. Granded you get slightly more flex out of a solid axle truck, but the E-maxx has more overall ground clearance. No "pumpkin" to get hung up on rocks. I am really impressed with the wheeling capabilities of the E-maxx. I've wheeled the stock truck and was impressed how well it did out of the box. Granted I havn't tried out my fully built truck yet since I'm waiting on the motors and ESC. I think it will do at least 100% better. The older E-maxx was actually better for crawling then the newer one since it has the tires closer to the centerline of the truck. And the shorter CVDs are stronger as well. I ended up with the wide maxx kit because it was the only thing available at the time... I think I may convert to the original arms if the jumbomaxx wheels will fit without hitting the body or anything else, being they almost hit the body already. I'd post my set up but its somewhat long. I can post it later if anyone is interested and I will try to get some pictures up later on if I can get some. I have to say, nice truck primal !
