Can anyone recormend a good forward and reverse electronic speedo for the Tamiya TXT-1 that can handle the 2 motors, or 2 slighty lower turn motors?

Get a Traxxas EVX, thats supposed to be a good ESC that will meet your needs! Its made by Novak for Traxxas!

I was thinking that, how much is it, and were can I get one from? Will the rooster2 handle one pack and 2 motors?

The EVX is a 14.4 volt speedo. That will require you running dual battery packs and 14.4V motors.
For the stock motors and a single pack, get an XTM Sportsman Fwd/Rev speedo from Hobby People. I used one in my TXT, it handles both motors easily, and is a superior ESC for rock crawling the TXT.

If you don't want to go the 14.4v route, any good ESC will work (FUTABA MC 300 series, $60) and any (2) good motors 7.2v wired in parallel. Keep the motors over 19T. It's cheaper and works great. Remember if you go the 14.4 route with those stout 550 motors, you'll have to change the gearing to the E-Maxx gears to be able to handle that combination.

7.2 volt / 540-size motors: Novak Super Rooster or LRP F1 Pro Reverse.
14.4 volt / 550-size motors: Traxxas EVX

Sounds like I can use the new LRP Quantum pro reverse, but how do I wire both motors parallel without frying anything? Thanks.

*ahem*
You can use any motors you want with the EVX, mod or stock. I fist ran mine with the stock silver can motors. Work'd fine.
