It depends on how much money you want to spend. Now, I'm not entirely familar with the wild dagger but I do believe its a cheaper monster truck from Tamiya or Kyosho if I'm not mystaken. Yes, it would perform better than the average radioshack monster truck but if I were I would upgrade to a Electric Stampede from Traxxas. Also not top of the line, but a good performer considering its price tag of about 190 to 210 if you want RTR. Then all you have to but is 8 AA's and one battery and one charger. You could even get the gas version for only a little bit more. And if you really want performance, get the E-maxx. The top-o-the line electric performance monster truck, and comes in at around 319 RTR, so take your pick, its your money. But choose wisely because when it comes to RC monster trucks, you get what you pay for. Hope my advice helped! If you have more questions e-mail me at joecoolwg@hotmail.com.

I bought one for my daughter's boyfriend for Christmas. It is a nice tough "basher" truck. He is happy as heck with it. and he had never driven a RC vehicle before. Now he wants an E-Maxx.... sort of the ultimate electric .... I told him to start saving!!!!LOLOL:cool:

The Wild Dagger is from Tamiya and it suks bad for bashing!, the only way to make a Dagger rock is to make it a carpet racer cause it cant take any kind of jumping or stiff hits up a driveway for that matter.
Go with Traxxas you cant go wrong there.and they to have a broad selection to choose from but only the E-Maxx has double motors like the Dagger.

Thats not true I Am E/T. THe wild dagger is a great performing truck and can be driven offroad like other monster trucks. Stock it is a little slow but with a pair of speedgems 17turn motors, and a super rooster esc, it will fly. Also a set of kyosho offroad shocks fit nicely. Go to www.rcmt.net and visit the wild dagger forum. Yu'll see lots of ppl who love their wild daggers and modified em to look like clods. But if you want a Mt thats faster stock and has an 2speed, and esc, go for the emaxx, it is worth saving for.

I agree with everyone here. The dagger is a great truck. I have one that is only 1 month old and it is great for speed, as well as bashing, even with the stock motors, a lil $ will make this thing really fast. Mine is even up for sale. Only has 3 runs on it total. I am getting into nitro and don't need the elec too! Interested, please contact me!

I do have to agree with everyone exept I am E/T, the wild dagger is a good truck. I've done some researching and found out it can be heavily modified to be a good performer. But i still think you should go with atleast a Stampede. E-maxx's are your best choice for electric, but if thats to much, definitely a stampede. Daggers are alright, but not as good as a pede in my opinion.

Yeah pede is good. I saw a vid of a pede with a brushless motor. Kid had to accelerate slowly since it did lots of wheelies. :) I might get an E pede kit, after i modify tl01  :D
dont slow down
02-23-2002, 01:10 AM
yeah but you know what the dagger has that the pede doesnt? one, its 4x4, second, Dual motors, and i hear that it can be fitted for 4 wheel steering. with all of those features, it can beat a pede any day. now i admit, pedes are awesome trucks but they are sort of in a diff. catagory. the pede is only 2 wheel drive and the dagger is 4. for me it would be a very close call but i would choose a dagger. but only by the tiniest margin.

Besides that one is 4wd and the other is 2wd, and the WD uses dual motors, it needs an esc to handle the 2 motor, for best performance, use the novak super rooster. Also the wild dagger will have more torque than the Pede, and better traction. And you have to wire one of the motors for reverse, which some ppl are lazy to do. And if you get a stock motor, you'd have to adjust the timing on both motors.

hi new to this board
you should get a dag(what we call them on rcmt boards)
its a great truck!
you can hop it up big time.
from bearings to chassis.
anybody that says it suks never had one.
it's cheap as 4x4 monsters go.
you cant break it.
the only real prob is the dog bones if you put on clod size wheels
you'll start to twist them.
so what are you waiting for
do the dag!!!:D

lol. :) I might snag me a dag later on. Sweet 4wd, and has lots of torque even in stock. Just a ESC and 2400 batts will give u plenty run time and more power...now thats cool

It would be cool if Tamiya engineered a 4x4 Blackfoot based on the Blackfoot space frame chassis!!
They could call it the King Quad Blackfoot 4x4!!!:D
That would be sweet:cool:

zombieslayer, I hope for your sake that you were just kidding with that post. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourself with that rediculously one-sided assumtion of E-Maxx repairs.

maxrc, before i buy anything i go on any site that i can get customer feedback.
i really wanted an e-maxx,so i checked every board i could find about the e.
most of the post are about bad radio's,evx's or broken parts.
the number's don't lie.
if you have one i hope you have good luck with it.
but i'd hate to see someone new to rc to be turned off because of a truck someone on the boards recommended.

Anyone who says the Dagger is a good car is simply showing ignorance for the R.C world ,just check out where the shocks mount up( on the edge of the gear cases(duh) ) it is only good as a carpet racer or non jumpming car.
It is a peice of crap , take the advise from the people who said go with Traxxas E- maxx and dont get ripped off time and money on a Dagger it's good for looks.
Yes I had 1 when they 1st came out who could resist dual motors!, I put 2 Race Prep 13 turns, 20 tooth pinions and one 8 cell with Super Rooster and it did warp 3 and cracked like a project sherm head, if you got lots of dough then get it ,if you dont want to be sorry then just get a Traxxas.
R.C Dealer you need to watch yer mouth and type only as you would have typed to yerself .
my .05 cents.:p

Zombieslayer, one thing, the evx kicks and wouldn't break if you treat it right. Its one of the best esc's I've heard of in a stock vehilce, and all those other things won't break unless you thrash the thing, then of course stuff is gonna break. And besides, Traxxas factory support is awesome, if something breaks, they practically send you a new one free, everything has warranty. So you wouldn't have to spend that money, and the Dag is getting old too, it would probably cost more money to replace those parts, so na na na!:D :)

Well people who own emaxxes have had problems with breakage also. Stop smoking your crack pipe and sober up already! E/T I will not respond to any more of your negative remarks about me. You trashed the truck, yet you praise another rc truck that has its share of flaws!!The Wild Dagger is a great truck as is the E maxx. Both have flaws, doesn't every machine have a flaw? So get of your hobby horse already:mad:
Other than that I am:cool: and:)

Dealer have you noticed you reply to my reply's within 5 minutes every time without failure what do you do live here?.
Both is good so when the Dagger turns to peanut brittle you can still play.
Just so you know I put alot of cash in my Dagger and it failed me even if it is faster than my E-Maxx.:p ;)
