I have a 18v drill but don't want to smoke those batteries.
Okay I know this is a little silly but I'm seriously considering buying a 14v DeWalt battery for this USA-1 electric. NE1 ever done it?
Thanks go out to Hairball who turned me on to the 14v theory. I'll be working on some of his other electric suggestions in the following weeks.
If the motors are GLOWING BLUE how long before they're shot?
Thanks,

I'll try to nail some pics soon.

Glowing blue?!!??! Um, I'd say there just about done. :)
Really, after you thermo-nuke the magnets, the brushes should just about weld themselves to the comm. Be careful, because once that happens, its pretty much dear short on the batterys. I almost lost two brand new 3000HV packs to this thing happening to mine. :)
Are you using the stock motors?

hey,
Its nice to see people trying new stuff! hehe, if the motors cant handle those 14v batts, try using a different motor!:D i always wanted to see a 7.2v drill motor (its inside a can, so it can be taken out of the drill) inside a monster truck. Or if you find a 14v motor to accompany the 14v batts, drill some mounting holes on it, and dremel a flat spot on the motor shaft so you can put a pinion on it. it proly wont be fast, unless it is a 30k+ rpm drill. But it will more than likely have gobs of torque.

The stock E-Maxx motors are designed for 14.4v, so they would work great. You could probably use a 18V battery and not hurt them. Just make sure your ESC can handle it. :)
They are internally fan cooled, so the faster they go, the more air they get to cool them off.
