How 'bout a thin strip of teflon tape once or twice around to fill up the threads?

When you tighten the shock caps do not over tighten them. If you do the baldder which seals hte cap also will shift and they will leak.

True,
Overtightening will shift the bladder/seal, and cause a leak. It helps somewhat to lightly coat everything with a layer of shock oil.
Also, when you are bleeding the shock right as you are screwing down the cap, don't push the shock shaft all the way up. If you do, the shock shaft will actually push against the bladder and cause it to deflate and shift.
I've built 4 sets of Big Bore shocks for T/E Maxx trucks. Usually, I get about 2 to 3 that leaks on the first try. Maybe one more on the second try. It's a pain in the ***. Because of this, I typically leave a newly built set of Big Bore shocks laying on its side overnight and check them for leaks in the morning.
