I put the 8mm axel upgrade kit in. I noticed where the axel goes into the new cup it is getting chewed up a little. the cup is deeper on the 8mm axels, when the suspension drops all the way down you can see where the cup is hitting the axel.Anybody out there with the same problem? What did you do for a fix?

You can take the shocks apart and slide a length of fuel tubing over the shock shaft, inside the shock body. This will limit the downtravel on the suspension and should prevent the binding you are experiencing.

First option is the best but more expensive one----ditch your rear dogbones, buy a new set of cva's (same part # as the front, $38 from ace-hobbies) and mount them in the rear. Have heard that Ofna makes a different size cup for buggies that will fit and eliminate this problem. I also read a post where a guy dremeled the edges of the cups so they wouldn't rub. My MP came with the 8mm stuff stock and it's showing the same wear you're describing, haven't gotten around to upgrading it yet. Love my MP!

I did put a carbide bit in the dremel and did a little grinding, but you have to take off quite a bit.also thought of cutting the end off and then grind a new chamfer on the inside. Fuel tubing on the shock shaft sounds interesting

did some grinding in there but you have to do alot to get it to work good. If you put the cva's on would you have to change the cups on the diff? Tubing on the shock shafts sounds interesting.

No mods needed, the front CVA's will fit the rear diffs fine. I don't like the idea of fuel tubing in the shock, that will shorten the throw of the shocks which will transfer more of the impact of a big hit to your arms and bulks. Best bet is to go with long shocks in the front, either mod a rear shock tower for the front, buy an after market tall front tower or wait for the new MP/Dominator which is just coming out now. It has Hyper 7 rear long shocks on all four corners, a tall front tower should be available as a bolt on mod for all older MPs.
