Cloud 9 has some 44 guage green wire which is very light. I may come to the Maxecuter meeting this coming Saturday and hope to meet you.

Just got through using some #39 with the RFFS-100. worked great, can hardly see it.

Experts, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I have found that some modular phone cords contain four wires that look to be approximately 28 AWG stranded conductors.

I had to wreck a couple of cords to find one that didn't have the real thin woven foil with fiber interweave. The cord that eventually yielded the wire had a bright shiny silver plastic coating on the outside.

They plastic coating on the wires seems a bit stiffer than what comes on the typical micro-rx, but this might be a plus in keeping it from tangling too easily. I harvested these wires with the intent of using them as antennae, but haven't had the opportunity to try them yet. Anyone else tried this?

Karl,

I haven't tried phone cord, but I have dissected mouse tails for some very flexible stranded wire.

I know where to find a couple dead mice too, that won't mind losing their tails...

Can you get a full 40" out of one?

The ones we have here are at least 6 ft long! Get one with a pedigree such as Microsoft, much higher quality.

yeah, and a hundred foot of that real fine magnet wire doesnt weigh an ounce. Try some of that stuff if the tails dont work well enough :D

The only dead mice I have dealt with have tails about 3" long. I doubt they are conductive, and they look pretty heavy for a micro set-up--probably smell pretty bad after a bit too :-)
