Mike,
Looks cool. I anxiously await Jason's article on the slow flyer version but am enjoying the fast one now. I fly with a direct drive gws and 8 cell(2x4) 50ma nicads. I was wondering, how you did you do the ailerons? I just did mine on the bottom wing and coupled them pull pull to the rudder. Yours appears to have no rudder?? Where did you balance it? Where did you put the servos? Which Servos are you using? Flying nicads or Nmh? I fly mine at a Golf dome in Madison, WI but have also flown it outside. Any suggestions you have?? I also used tape to take off the paint except on the leading edge - not sure it took off much weight???

Later,
Dave

Dave;

I did the ailerons the same as Jason's original posting (servo thru the lower wing). I wanted to have ailerons on the top wing to increase the roll rate and wing area. The ailerons are just hinged to the bottom surface of the wing with tape. Presently I'm just using aileron and elevator with HS55 servo's. I plan to add rudder for ROG's by changing to the GWS servo's ( a little lighter but a much smaller package). My cg is just behind the leading edge of the lower wing. My first flight was with 8 280 (2/3 AAA) nimh, and it was very quick. I dropped two cells and have been flying it on 6 ever since. I've only been flying mine outside (don't have a local indoor site) and it's been a kick. On 6 cells it loops, snaps and with the upper and lower ailerons the roll rate will make you dizzy. I pull out the wheels for grass and belly it in and leave them on if I've got pavement. It does pretty good in 5-10 mph winds (handles the wind better with 8 cells)
