Since the Madfroce is still relatively new............ Have any aftermarket compinies started to make any hopup parts ..?
Compinies like New Era etc.......?
jeroen

The madforce's isn't a beginner car and, I think the t-maxx is, it has got an less powered engine and also the reverse.

I was wondering .....will T-Maxx tyres better the Madforce handling....? I mean if you want to race ona track with jumps & stuff. I feel the MAdfroce masive tyres would rub off some speed while taking turns & stuff.
Plus for putting smaller wheels can i still use the stock gearing. Will the claimed speed of 43 Mph reduce ot increase with the smaller Tmaxx tyres....?
jeroen
08-02-2002, 05:04 PM
I haven't got any experience with the T-maxx but there are guys on the http://pub13.ezboard.com/fmaxximumtraxxasfrm94?page=1 Forum That have both the maxx as the madforce so you can better ask it over there.

08-02-2002, 09:14 PM
smaller tires = more acceleration and lower top speed, since the wheels are not moving the truck forward as far per revolution, it's the same as gearing it lower
but it would lower the truck and remove some rotating mass, so yes, it might handle better on the track with the smaller tires
i haven't seen any non-kyosho hopups yet, but i'm sure the aftermarket will be all over it shortly

It is told a dousend times that it's a kit
Yep, it's a kit but it comes with a few pre-assembled parts (the axle including the diffs, the 3 speed, ...)

I was wondering had any suggestions for me. I have called about 13 different hobby shops, and none of them has the Mad Force in stock. And, they aren't sure when they will get them in stock. And, to pre-order one, I have to put some money down on one. My question is, which hobby company usually gets things in stock the quickest? Thanks
birdy233
08-10-2002, 12:06 AM
Tower is usually the quickest, they are the biggest Kyosho supplier. Here's my MF with a body I don't know what it is???
kart_racer3
08-10-2002, 09:17 PM
But, doesn't their web site say that they won't have them in stock until "mid august" ?

birdy - i think that is an ofna/ho bao monster pirate body you have on there
kart - keep an eye on ultimate hobbies, they are also out of stock on mad forces (i think) but they were selling them for $400...i believe the official release date is aug. 19th, so you shouldn't have to wait too much longer regardless
edit: tower now has "limited quantities" of mad forces in stock
hey mad-forcers, where are you? (at maxxtraxx, of course)

well done clemens, that looks really good...i love a nice simple paint job, very classy...and there is no beating black for sheer BADASSEDNESS (i just made that up, hope you like it)
Thanks Unobjectionable!
I just ran the madforce with the body, it really looks pretty nice.
In fact, I planned to make a decent metallic red and silver two-color paint job, but those guys at my LHS handed me the wrong colors. It was kinda translucent red instead of metallic-red. I found that out after I've applied 10+ layers of color and the body was still opaqe...
It looked like the body was unevenly coated with cherry-candy... it was almost resting in my trash-can, when I noticed that the red won't be visible when coating it with black. hehe.
After that, I decided to paint the whole body black and trim those headlight stickers a bit to give it an overall agressive look... thats it. :)

Oh well, while it sits, I guess I can post a pic of it. The pic doesn't do it any justice, but it is red up front and fades to an orange color in the back. The checks in the back are a metallic blue that fades to a metallic purple.

And which brand R/C unit do you use for this massive nitrotruck? ( I assume it would be servo for 1:8 )
And how much total cost for kit and r/c unit?

Stainless steel center drives are available at RC Alloys. Cost is $40 shipped USPS Priority. They are much thicker than the originals. Check them out if you are waiting on the backorders for the originals. They can have them to your door in 3 days.

Which way does the baffle inside the pipe go? I had it apart and didn't pay attention to which way it went.
Redfox
09-19-2002, 12:59 AM
Assuming that the madforce uses the same pipe as the Kyosho Landmax, the baffle inside the pipe points towards the stinger end of the pipe. So you put it in the half of the pipe that is attached to the rubber manifold connector so that the baffle is pointing away so that it looks like a double ended cone. Then slip on the red/orange o-ring and then put the stinger half of the pipe on the front and screw it up nice n tight.
I tell you what looks really cool... i polished the pipe on my Kyosho Landmax, cos the stock pipe looks kinda dull and uninteresting. If you get some wet and dry paper from the local hardware store, you can work on the pipe starting off with an 800 grade paper, then work up to 1200 and beyond. Then get some automotive metal polish (i use Autosol, but in the states apparently you have metal polish under the brand name "Mothers: Mag and Aluminium Polish") and polish it up real good with that and a rag. It looks really really cool when polished up.
The best way to start off with the wet n dry paper is to hold the paper in your hand and then put the pipe in (i take it apart and do it part by part) and then spin it around in your hand whilst applying pressure.
Anywayz, good luck with that!!
Chris :D

Hey- I've posted about a BAJILLION TIMES- and i am mad cause i can't keep my mind on one car at a time-
Okay. At first i wanted the New T-maxx, then the MF, then the DOminator, then the xxx-nt, then between the Dom and T-maxx- i'm still picking. But now the madforce caught my attention again.
I have 2 (hopped up rustler and a FT B3)electric cars, and a Bit Char-g(which i absolutely love) and i'm bilding a custom car.
Like i said before- i wish i could post about which car i should get, but i'll get all different answers, and people will say to your preference, which i hate t when they say that- so here it is- Its between the Dom, new T-maxx, the Titan, the Savage and the Mad force- Which one? I know i shouldn't be posting in the Mad force forum, but well here i go. I MIGHT be able to get the dom, but it would be the most expensive of the 3 at about 510$ total. THen the new T-maxx, which woudl come to (total) about 430$ and then the titan, which i don't know about, but love, and the savage, which i love too. and then the madforce. What do i need. I see it for tower for 449, and my hobby shop will probably sell it for about 420$. So besides the truck, what else do i need.- i can spend probably like 500$ total, and then at that price i would have to chip in. So which one between those 5? please give me an honest answer. I've looked aroudn and thi is and honest thread- so let me in on which one to get( i'm leaning towarsds each and every one) and give me the ups and downs of each trck please- thanks.

Speaking of tires and rims, anyone know the dimensions on the Imex Baja tires for the clod. Are they bigger or wider than the stock MF tires. Will they fit Monster Pirate rims?
hua15
10-14-2002, 01:28 AM
Inside size of the rim is the size, over all tire is smaller, it's great for all round driving and it's lighter.
I am waiting for some MP aluminum rims to come in, then I will know if it will fit, but I am pretty sure it won't be a problem, since you are always scretch a little bit.

Well first off, I use my MF a lot! Today I was running at a construction site and went through 12 tanks and the only problem was My pipe set screw fell out! Not bad eh? So I come home and start to clean (really dirty ) Then I go to start it for one last trip around the yard and the pull start
spring lets go. :( So I think no problem, my truck starts on the first pull...wind it in by hand and give one pull. Vroom right up :)
So hit the gas and front goes up, quick turn around and back and hit the brakes when I here CLICK CLICK CLICK!
Hmmm try it again but this time real slow and sure enough, click click click Check the front axle to see if the two halfs are seperated but they are nice and tight  Pull the diff out and I am missing 3 teeth on the ring gear and the pinion is pretty shot too  I also noticed that my front one way bearing is siezed as well!!! What the? It has locked up before and I was able to get it loose but not this time! This part I bet is going to be a problem...it is under a lot of stress! So I now have a bunch of parts on order (Tower is out of the hard steel diff! ) so I ordered the regular one to hold me over.
What I should do is order a whole new truck and part it out and keep the parts I need :D
Take a look at the rear drive cup! I told you I use it a lot!:D

Now I have a question :) When I came home I grabbed my new IMEX Jumbo Maxx tires and put them on the rims to find out the tires are TOO BIG:eek: :(
SO what tire shoul I go with??? The Jumbo Maxx tires wear great! I have tried the IMEX Clod Baja's but they wear FAST!!! Are we just stuck with the boaring stock tires? They do wear well but I was hoping for something bigger, and more agressive...

You could use the axles.. but I wouldn't.
Jugg / TXT-1 axle = 2:1 ratio
Mad Force axle = 3.3:1 ratio
Your gearing would be off.

Sorry I don't have 60 hours to read every post since the beginning of this thread, but I have a few questions about this truck...From what I see in the videos, the suspension is stiff and not very forgiving. Is this just poor clips, or are there some inherent weaknesses in the suspension that can be overcome by after market products? I have been tossing around the idea of a MF or the HPI Savage. I like the simple layout of the MF, but have my worries about the suspension.
Hairball

The stock MF suspension is stiff. With lighter springs and lighter oil, it becomes soft and loses is "bouncey" effect.
Its a VERY strong truck.

I wonder if the kysho gs.21 that is stock on MF is good, or do you need to buy and other to get the most out of the truck?
And btw, what other wheels fits on the MF?
Dose like USA-1 and t-maxx tires fit?
And one other thing, what is the ground clearance?

Hey guys I just got my new Mad Force and finished assembly a few days ago. I have had a chance to run 3 tanks of fuel and tweak according to the manual. ( 3-turns on the needle valve 10' increase every tank)
I have a few things I hoped you guys could help me with?
First off the only tweaking I know of is the needle valve adjustment, what is the silver flat head screw at the end for? Opposite to the black one next to the servo? It will turn but I dont know what is does, and I dont know what the black one does. (the manual says to have it turned in just until the groove is out of view)
I hope I explained it right.....
Basiclly what I am asking is after break in what should be set to what for optimal performance?
Also, I am having trouble cold starting it it takes 15 pulls to finally get it to start trying to start, then another few to get it going. I tried pluggin the muffler when I pull a few times it seems to help some, but man I didnt think I had to pull the crap out of it to get it to start everytime? Do you think somethings wrong?
I love my truck and im having a blast with it. (Although my dog and daughter are scared of it... lol )
Thanks so much for the advice!

I have some experience from .21 motors, but not from kyosho.
but I think that that "silver" screw u'r talking about is the mid range screw.
What i have learnt by my shalf is that, that is the screw you will use the most.
its the screw that fix the behavioor in the middle.
The hig end (the long "tower") fix the top speed. and the idle screw the idling.
and the mid range fix wen you trottel up.
if it blurs, like it gets to much fuel, screw it in, if it stop like out of fuel, screw it out.
Now I'm not an expert, but thats how my OS .21 motor is.

The midrange screw is really an adjustable seat for the low end needle, which sits opposite. It is generally best to leave it alone; expert tuners utilize it to alter the point where the low-end flow transitions over to top end. The main needle you want to be concerned with is the high-end needle (the black plastic one on the GS21's carb body), since it determines how much fuel enters the carburetor, and hence the engine, in the first place.
The low end needle determines punch off the line and out of low-speed corners, and it also plays a critical role in engine temperature at low rpm.
The idle adjustment screw does nothing more than set the opening of the carb slide.

Low- End Needle, which one is that and what should it be set at?
I am running the black plastic needle at 2 1/2 turns, after I ran through about 7 tanks of fuel. But I DO NOT notice much off the line from this truck and I cannot pull the wheels on pavement. There seems to be a lack of power off the line then it starts to scream after first gear.
Im taking it to work tomarrow to run with some other guys and would like my off the line performance improved?
Thanks guys!

According to the included break-in instructions the low end needle screw (which is the black screw on the arm side of the carb, opposite the high end needle & fuel inlet) should be set so that the groove is just hidden from sight when it is screwed in. This is a break-in setting; since you have already run some fuel through it you may be able to lean it ever so slightly. I suspect that you're still on the rich side overall and this is affecting your acceleration. After idling the first tank did you lean the high end needle out 1/8 of a turn at a time?

I like the 4 steering setup
How does it drive, and does it roll quick when you steer at high speeds?
This is my madforce website (http://members.lycos.nl/kyoshorccars/index.html)
The site shows some pictures and vids of my madforce and landmax
The 4 link is nor ready yet, gotta make rods for over the links,a nd waiting for the extended chassis plates, and steering upfront, 8 shock setup.

Good morning Jereon,
I have yet to even start the engine due to bad weather and little time with the holidays and work...
Regarding the 4 wheel steering... I can pretty much guarantee that without sway bars it will role easily. 4 wheel steering is definately not good for racing or landing huge jumps. It is inherantly unstable. I have a set of New Era rear steering lock-out links to slap on the truck for racing.
I really like your truck. The 4-links look awesome. I will go to 4-links when I put my tube frame or CF frame on it.
Keep up the great work,

Has anyone seen the Kyosho Mad Armour Kit? It is part number 31224. It appears to be the Mad Force kit (31221) with a Hummer body. It is only listed on the Kyosho Japanese site and found on Hobbynet Japan's mail order site. I would like to know the part number for the body. Here is a like to the picture on the kyosho site:

The number on the Hummer bodyshell is 39222-3 MAD ARMOUR.
I also wanted too know the body number, so some one over at maxxtraxx,at the madforce section, who aleady got the mad armour gave the number too me
Now I only have too wait untill the body is going too be sold here in Holland

Thanks for the part number Jeroen.
I am in the US and may try to order the kit from Hobbynet Japan. The shipping is expensive, however, it would be neat to have something diferent than what is locally available. I currently drive a Kanai II buggy, so the Mad Force would be a good choice to have a few common parts.

It is an offrord racing only vehicle. Pavement tears it up too bad, and there is not enought ground clearance for rough terrain or tall grass. So.... I thought I would get additional car that was more versatile.
I just ordered a new Mad Force. During construction, I am going to upgrade the diffs with extra gears, ( I have a bunch of 7.5 spares). What other mods should I perform during initial construction? I will start out using a couple of Hitec 645 servos. Can you replace the drive shafts with the 7.5 center universals? I thought that this might keep the shafts in place better. If I want to add the extra links to reinforce the stock two-link suspension, what part number are they?

All your answer can be found Here (http://home.houston.rr.com/rogerandjulie/madforce/)
Can you replace the drive shafts with the 7.5 center universals?
Yes you can
But it won't solve the drive shaft popping out problem
If I want to add the extra links to reinforce the stock two-link suspension, what part number are they?
There isn't a real part number for it, just take some rods you like and, it will work

It's from the flexi suspension arms, you can make it stop, by putting links on the arms, so they flexi only for articulation

I finally broke in my MF! I have upgraded to the ultra soft springs in front, and the Kyosho dual shock mounts for extra strength. What SetUp does everyone recommend for racing? I race a Kanai II, and an RC10T. I bought the MF for fun in the yard and at the park, but I want to race it also. I would like to know what shock settings (Oil and Preload) and what toe-in or toe-out for the front and back would be best for racing. My local tracks usually are relatively tight with large jumps and whoops. Jumps are at least 2 feet tall.

I did try to race my Mad Force last weekend. The thing handled like a pig on the tight track. I was running the stock tires and the yellow springs. The thing bounces like a basketball. It jumps well, but does not land well. The only way to land without bouncing is to perfectly downside every jump. I did, however, impress the crowds with the awsome speed of the three speed in a straight line. I broke a shock shaft and the one-way drive cup. To improve the handling, I have ordered an extended chassis and some bow tie Tmaxx tires, and I am going to play with springs and shock oil to make it handle better. I know it will never race like my Kanai II, however, I am up for the challenge.
I am also going to try the four wheel steering setup. There is a 4ws savage at the track the hooks up great without any high speed instability. He has the steering set for about 80% deflection on the rear compared to the front. I am going to try to come off the stock steering linkage with another rod to steer the rear a little bit. I figure that if I can get 10 degrees or so, I will be able to make th sharp turns.

Hairball, I ordered the Kipper racing chassis. The same one theramman has in his pictures. It installed great. I tried to race it last weekend with the yellow super soft springs and 35wt oil. I am still using the stock tires, so the ride was still bouncy. It handled the small bumps well, but landing the large jumps at my local track was still like remotely dribbling a basketball. I have ordered the premounted TRC Micro tires for the TMAXX. I have the kipper racing TMAXX wheel adapters. The tires should get here next week so I can give racing another shot. I have also hooked up 4 wheel steering. I duplicated the front steering setup on the rear, but I limited the rear to about 10 degrees max steering to maintain control. I also set up a few degrees on toe in on the rear. The truck has some stability problems with the ultra soft springs a high speed already, so i hope the 4 wheel steering doesn't make it uncontrollable. I will post some picures once i get it up a running.

I was wondering if someone wants to race th MF around a track. Isn't it better to stick with the stock suspension plastic arms? I feel the with the four link setup the truck might get wobbley.
I think 4 link & massive articulation would work great at slow speeds for rock climbing & stuff.
The original design is simply brilliant with the flrxing arms. Its so simple!
My 2 cents.

hi mad force guys, i already own a 2.5 t-maxx. but thinking about a second truck. i have my eye on a few and the mad force is one of them. but i dont know anyone who owns one. i just wanted to know a few things:
what is the top speed?
is it a good jumper?
how is it on rollover (does it flip alot)?
is it pretty durable?
what is it's weak spots? motor? suspension?
last but not least, is it hard to get parts?
i would appreciate any comments!
my choices are narrowed down to :
mad force
savage
or wait for the AE B.F.T.
one last thought: can some one tell me the major difference between the mega force and the mad force(besides the engine)?
thanks for the help BOB
atm92484_3
02-16-2003, 05:05 PM
You're defiently looking at 3 very closely matched trucks. I wouldn't wait on the BFT though. God knows when AE will get done testing and release it. If you want to build, the Mad Force is defiently the right choice but for racing, the independent suspension trucks might be a better idea.
The Mad Force tops out in the low 40s. I haven't had a lot of time to jump mine, but it seemed to be pretty good. Stock, its a little "bouncy" but the softer springs help a lot (this includes how easy it is to roll). I would say the truck is durable. I slammed mine into a concrete step at 30 mph and I only broke a front arm. I wouldn't say the truck has any weak spots, but aluminum bellcranks, universals, and softer springs aren't a bad idea along with a better pipe to get a little more power out of the engine (doesn't really need it though; truck is already almost too fast for its own good). Not too many LHS's stock Kyosho parts, but if yours is any good, they'll be more than willing to the parts on an order from Great Planes and get them in stock within a few days. From my experience, Kyosho parts are rarely out of stock. Also, the Mega Force is more like a T-Maxx in design and its parts are 1/10 scale while the Mad Force has a drivetrain based off of the Inferno buggies. Also, the Mega Forces aren't that fast.

What happened was your dogbone end pinched itself on the outdrive and whammo bent drive, I put a 1/8th inch piece of fuel tube in the out drive and a small piece in the cup on the diff and this cured the binding problem. just wanted to pass that along.

This truck just proved its self to me. After a good thrashing, it took 2 days and about 5 tanks of gas to finally disable the truck (included is 1 full speed head on collision into a flowerbed with 4x4s around the end, a ton of lands on pavement from 10+ feet in the air, and a ton of flips and crashes). After bending the front center dogbone from the head-on (only damage), I was able to keep going until I knocked a shock off and a couple jumps later broke the axle on that side.

I think the Mad Force jumps pretty good. Its really easy to adjust its attitude in mid-air and even if you go off the jump sideways, the torque from the wheels seem to straighten it out.

But when i was putting the diff back together i couldn't find one of my Bevel Shafts.... Which pisses me off, cause i knew i had the shaft... Oh well, i guess i will have to go LHS crusing (12 of them to choose from, Some not so local. LOL)

hi guys,
i know this questioned could have been discussed a lot of times, but i am newbie, so please help me.
I am looking for tuned pipe for my mad armour, either paris or Rb.
Wants more low end and cooler temperature.
Wats is the difference between rb063 and 086?
Many ppl says 063 is meant for low end , but from official web, its shows that 086 wins in term of torque and speed.
I am confused, thats why need ppl with expriences to advise.
Is paris pipe any good?
Among theses few which should i get for loe end power and cooler running temp?

the rb pipes are made out of a thin metal and dent rather easily, paris makes an al650 dual chamber pipe and is a great pipe fpr low end mid range. if you want to go with a rb pipe consider ofna's 083,its just like the rb pipe but made out of better metal.i hope this helps.

I'm verry impressed by the mad force engine.
It often starts on 2-3pulls, and if it don't just loosen the glowplug a little, then it starts.
I'm also impressed that it tackles rought terrain with ease.
Rocks, grasss ntre roots; No problem.
The onlt thing that can make this stand still is it drives on an tre or somthing in the middle of the drive axle. But that makes the most trucks stand still.
I would like all here to pay a visit to madforce.net
On the forums there you find lots of info and help.

Well pal, I live in Japan, and for me Living in Japan, Nothing can beat kyosho's online parts ordering service. As to price, the Mad Force RCX here is cheaper than the HPI Savage, but a little more Expensive than the Tamiya Terra Crusher.
Having said that, The Mad force RCX is a great value, it comes standard with full options, including the following options:Universal Center shafts, special Manifold, Polished Hard Side Plate, Polished Hard Under plate, Double Shock Stay, Ultra Soft Springs, Special Steering rod set, the Aluminium Steering crank, And the OS21RG-X engine. Which is cheaper than buying the previous version of the truck and getting all the options after the fact.
The 3 speed tranny is cool, and the suspension is good, the Truck is tough, and it handles alright. I like it.
Now having said this, Where do You live? Are you in the USA? If you are, Why not look at a TMAX. You see for me, Parts availability, and the availability of options is really important. THere are seemingly limitless parts for the TMAX in the US, but for me to import all those trick toys would far outweigh the bennifits of having my Mad force here. Just depends what you like. Me I like Kyosho, I have 3 of them.
Does this answer your question, or help at all?

nope I am in the UK and getting parts can be good and it can be bad (LHS) it wouldn't be my 1st kyosho or last (Landmax1 and 2, mulitple ready sets Vone S and Stadium Truck - got a long history with Kyosho! :) ). I cannot get my hands on a T Maxx easily so the other choise would be the Thunder Tiger EK4 or the Team Assoiciated truck sold through thunder tiger. The truck is for bashing and maybe (not likely raceing) Oh and what is the advantage of solid axil? :p
Whats the parts number for the RCX? and what is the price difference bectween the standard and RCX

Well in Japan The RCX version runs for about 48000yen, that is a little over 13000 more than the previous version. If you add up the cost of the upgrades if purchased seporately, it excedes this cost, and that does not include the cost of upgrading to the OS21RG-X engine if you wanted.
When It comes to the solid axle I would say that the main advantage is just durability. I have been beating the **** out of my truck, and it loves it. Very good design. I would say that the stability you loose in the solid axle is made up for in durability.
And that OS21RG-X engine is great pumps out a lot of power.
If you are interested I could direct you to a Japanese shop which would ship to you in the UK, as I dont think that the RCX version has been released outside of Japan.
Just send me a PM, with your email address, and I will send it along, and If you had any language problems I could help you out too.
Take care

lot of problem on my mad force. pull start won't lock. it' harder for me to start the engine. it seem the one way bearing are sliping. then i've broken diff gear at the front. my drive shaft at the front on the left side has cut into two pieces.

Kujiro,
Take the pullstart off and clean the one-way. Also another easy fix so if it does that agian is to drill a small hole in the back of the pullstarter and when ever it slips just squirt some Nitro Clean in there.
Next, The Diff Gears are a big problem. They are made out a Flimsy Aluminum and don't stand a chance at lasting. Your best bet is to stock up on diff gears or try and find another manufactuer that has the same sized diff gears in steel.
OR, you could just replace the entire diff with another manufactorer's diff.
Finally, That is the longest Drive shaft I've seen yet. On any car or truck. How did it snap? Just straight on power driving or when you were turning on power? Because I could only assume it would snap under power.

Hey,
I have seen the tip about using fuel lines to fix the rear dog bone that keeps poping off. I don't understand it, but does it work? How do I fix this problem? Anyone have pictures? I'm looking for a free solution to this problem. I saw another tip but it looks like it involved many expensive parts.
Thanks,

i'm already done the nitro cleaning. but it seem i need to push a bit at the back side of the starter to wrk it out. i think i need to replace the starter. then u mention to drill a hole at the pull starter. so i asking my self where to drill the hole and how big?

06-26-2003, 02:22 AM
yes the shaft that goes from the diff to the rear wheels. The shaft that goes to the front wheels from the brakes to front wheels never pops off. Just the rear one. When This happens the MF is front wheel drive and drives wierd because it's too powerful and needs 4wheel drive to get the power to the ground. I'll try that fuel hose thing. What's maxx turnbuckles going to do? I realy don't want to spend money.
when you say diff you mean the thing in the center of the truck with two shafts coming out, one has the brake pads and the other goes to the rear wheels. The center shaft going to the back always pops out. i'm looking for this solution. That fuel hose will fix it, right?
Edit: Just checked that link you sent me, I'm going to try to find the shafts on tower and order them.. going on vacation for a week or two so it's no rush to get them at my lhs... neat idea.

Found the turnbuckles on tower, but which ones? Looks like the older tmaxx used 96mm and the newer tmaxx used 108mm. Which one should I get?
Theres also rear turn buckles that are 118mm. Should I get these instead? and I noticed theres only 1 hole on the link arm. that means I have to drill another hole? thanks,

look at your pullstarter assembly. You will notice on the back that there is a raised section. Drill about a 1/8" or so hole at that raised spot...
As For Mini-Z Man,
You may want to check out New Era's Arm Supports. IMO they're alot more effective and you dont have to drill a single hole! And they look alot nice (if you polish them..).

I'm going to try finding some kind of scrap metal that will reinforce the arms so I don't have to spend any money. The person I bought this MF from also included extra new in package arms so if I mess up, I'll have extra arms. Atleast now I know the problem of the shaft popping out, and how to solve it.

I would like to get some more power out my madforce.. that header looks awfuly small. What would be options with exhaust systems? Could any header/exhaust fit? I saw a duratrax header and tuned pipe for a .21 engine on ebay for 5 bucks but I don't know if it would have fit. i heard something about an adaptor?
rc10gtisthebest

If you want power just pick up a RB pipe.
This is the adaptor I think your thinking of. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAGD1&P=7
I am not 100% sure it would work but it seems like it would. I say for $10 its worth a shot. and you can always return it to tower. And if it does work you wont be limited to any pipe..

Hi there.
You did the right thing.
The RCX is the most smartest too buy is you want a madforce(I have spent some money into my madforce, but the RCX wasn't availbe 1 year ago)
Kinda strange,we have almost the same cars.
If you have it I can highly recomment too built the 3 speed tranny in your landmax after some time offcourse,it's so much fun
The madforce is so much fun too drive, just as the landmax is for rally action.
I also ordered some stuff from tower but I do not think it will take that long too ship it too Europe.
P.S
I'm building up my madforce totally at the moment with some nice stuff

I see that you did not have the TB trick on those suspension arms,I can highly recomment them, maybe it is not needed for the axle poping, but they also keep the suspension arms straight, and can help when a big impact is coming of a crash,so that stuff is not braking any more.

It has good low&high end.

Make sure the diff screws are tighten enough.
try 15 wt oil for the shocks
Good luck building it

Frank, Kyosho just puts a very slender amount of grease in the diffs, once I put some oil in mine it handled so much better.
Here's my mad force waiting for an engine..... Hopefully I'll get that Sirio Soon...

I filled the diffs with this mixture:
85%10,000wt
15%100,000wt
It works very well, but I think I should have just done straight up 10,000wt but I wanted it to be able to get over stuff with out getting stuck because of the wheels spinning..

Nice chassis
A sirio that thing is gone a fly:D
You put a good mixture of oil in your diffs 10000 is too thin.
Went too the beach today, with soem other trucks, but they are not too be seen at my pictures.
Take a look:Madforce at see (http://members.lycos.nl/kyoshorccars/atsea1.html)
Made a small slow wheely video also:small wheely video (http://members.lycos.nl/kyoshorccars/madforce/videos/wheely.avi)

what's a good wt just for backyard bashing??
Thanks Frank

I do not know which diff oil thickness is right for different kinds of terrain.
I used 30000 and it works just well.
Although I think 10000/20000 will do for some backyard bashing

What is the difference between the mad force and the mad armor?
jeroen
10-14-2003, 05:03 AM
Hung-Kuen
I have bought a polished RB 9886 pipe from a friend for a low price:D
If you did not ordered the kyosho one already,You could have got mine RB for a low price.
FrankT did you have the RCX?
If so very nice, cause the box is the same as a stock madforce only a RCX sticker onto the side.
RCkid11
The only differende is that the mad armor had longer drivecups and a other body.
So it's more a choise which body you like the most.
But if you have a little more money too spent(or safe 1 more month)get the RCX it's loaded with option parts for a low price, and a O.S RG instead of the GS21 which is not such a fast/strong engine.
Good too see this forum is starting to move(just like the landmax forum on this board)

Jeroen- the pipe has arrived but i have a friend that might be intrested. would the pipe work well with a 15 engine.
rckid11- Save one more month like jeroen said and get the rcx edition you`ll save a lot off money
FrankT- You better start building that thing soon.... yust kidding:D
Its yust 3 days left.. then i can go home and paint my new mad armour body and attach the new pipe:D
