I was wondering if anyone has or knows anything about the new tamiya dyna storm, other than what I found at http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/49190dynastorm/dynastorm.htm[/URL]

I know that RCCA did a review on it recently...

There's a review in last month's RCCA. You can find it at Tower Hobbies for $340 bucks.

What a rip off. I know it's a collectors car, but what IS the point in collecting Tamiya's? They are SOOOO pants !

I'm waiting for the re-release of the Egress.

I recently got one just for nostalgic reasons, I guess. It's a nice car and all, but is it worth the money? I guess that's an individual decision. I haven't even opened it yet, and don't really plan on it. I haven't run electric in quite a while, so I'm just leaving it in the box for now. I've got enough on my hands with nitro cars at the moment!

I would probably buy a re-release of the Egress since it's the only electric 4wd car with a center differential. That and there is just something cool about the Avante design.

I'm right there with you, the Avante buggies are the coolest ever. I'd buy one too but would probably be to scared to drive it. The price and rarity of the parts would drive a man to alcoholism.

There was a guy at the R/C car magazine that did a review of the Dyna storm in the last issue I think. It was a full blown test like they do with other kits, only this guy did not realize he was testing a re-release of a vintage kit. He compared it with the XXX buggy from Losi and the Kyosho ride. He thought it was a great advancement to have those teflon inserts in the shocks and he even commented on the radical design departure with shorter suspension arms etc. compared to the competition. It was so fun to read after I had read the review in RCCA of this vintage re-release. I just felt sorry for the guy, I mean, you would kind of hope that some editor or someone would catch it before it went to print. Anyway, it did get quite decent comments so maybe it will help Tamiya with the sales of the kit, who knows.

I agree it looks killer, but too many beans to buy one. If I had one I would probably trash it right away, or have to be rich and buy 2 of them and drive one and have other in box :)

The Dyna-Storm looks like a Super Astute with and MDC tranny and longer shocks. Same rims arms and everything...
