Here's a shot of my Avance with my "MRX3" conversion - I put the battery in the chassis and mounted the steering servo and recevier like the MRX3 on a custom radio tray. Biggest problem was having to make my own tank, but the whole concept worked out well and the car runs great - carries incredible corner speed.

This weekend we had here a national race of 235mm cars. One guy after the race let me to do some laps.
Liked the car (next year those cars will run 4wd and 7ports turbo engines, so will be wicked fast). What shocks me is that Mugen didn't evolutioned their car and has some quite years now without a new car.
Anyone knows if are working on a new car?

I just picked up an Avance through an eBay auction. I have found very little information on the Internet for these cars. I know Mugen is still selling and supporting this vehicle, as it shows up on their Web site in the "Product Information" page and not under "Discontinued Vehicles".
Is there anyone here who still owns and runs the Avance? Are there any tips or Web sites that might have more information about it?
Thanks!

Just a quick update for anyone who is interested: I installed an RB X15 Turbo in my Avance and started the run-in process over the weekend.
Even with oil spitting out of the pipe at 175*F (80*C) this engine rips! Now, I can't wait to get it really tuned up!
The engine is highly recommended.

I just picked a brand new one. I hear these cars have tons of corner speed. I can't wait to drive mine at the track. I got one of those rex 15's with it as well.

That's the beauty of 1/10 on-road cars: They handle like the 1/8, but cost about as much as a good touring car.

Well, I just got back from the track last sunday and I raced my mrx-3 for the last time ( gonna have my mrx-4 thursday ). Anyways, I had my avance on my pit table and hella people came up to my pits thinking that the avance was the new mrx-4. Everybodies reaction was " is that the new mrx-4 ? Wait a minute !! What the hell is this ?? " I just started laughing and I told them that its a avance K2X from mugen seiki. Now, I got like 5-8 guys interested in the car and reccomended my LHS ( Ace Hobbies ). The owner had to order more from mugen to keep up with demand :) I would think by the middle of next month, we should have a full class of 1/10 scale 235mm avances going up against the serpents :) I'll give you guys an update.

Do you race at Ram's? If so, can please give an estimate on the cost to race this class? (IE. tires and what not.) Thanks.

1/10 and 1/8 cars can use only foam tires. Fast Tires are Mugen's own brand, although they are basically Elligis mounted on a Mugen rim. If you have a hard time finding 1/10 Fast Tires, I believe you can also use Paris UFRA tires for the 1/10 Picco Integra. Also, Arrows has some tires available that will work on either the 1/10 Integra or the Avance.
Expect to pay $15+ for front tires and $20+ for rears.
Other than the tires, running a 1/10 235 mm on-road car is really no more expensive than running a high-end touring car. The 1/8 on-road cars are where the real money is. :)
