What are the physical differences of all the different types of p-94 motors? Like rpm, torque, high variance split, and layered. How do these affect the motor? Trinity's site is completely uninformative.

Have a look at Tower, they've got the specs for all the P-94's.. that's what I did. :)

Not racer! its just a hobby and alittle fun.....

I had (1) P94 9t double im my Jugg2. It lasted about 15 pack and went dead. Eventhogh the jugg required 2 motors, using one 9 turn P94 was plenty of power for all wheel spin and top speed.

That was two months ago. Now I have (2) p94 14 triple im my jugg2. Let me tell you........ it gets up and go! Plenty of accelleration. But top end is alittle less than the 9T.

here r the specs of the motors:

9T double

50,000 rpm
230 power
190 torque
78% effecient

14T double

33,500 rpm
204 power
235 torque
77% effecient

Hope that helps!

Thanks! I'm going to put a 16t double in an rs4 rally, sounds like it will be fun :D

I have the same problem!

I have a P94 12x2 with the following specs printed on it
rpm: 42009
p: 214,1 W
ef: 79,2%
t: 192 Nmm

In RC Car Action of February 2002 there is a dyno test of a P94 12x2 with the following specs
rpm: 34347
p: 239,4 W
ef: 82,5%
t: 128,8 Nmm

The difference is quite big!

It is annoying that such a great company as Trinity is has so little info about the P94s in it's site!

It has to do with the way the wire is wrapped on the armature.

rpm -- Probably wound for top end RPM. probably good for applications where you need top end speed and torque

torque -- Probably wound for low end torque. the difference between this and "RPM" is prbably similar to the difference between the P2k and the GM3.

high variance split -- This means the wire is of very different guages ie one strand is 24 and the other is 20. This probably has some effect on the powerband, I dont know what.

layered -- This means the wires are layered on ontop of each other. Probably a subtle effect on the powerband.

I figured out what rpm an torque are. its the way the armature is shaped. the rpm armature has more wire towards the center. The torque armature has more wire towards the outter edge.

Well, maybe we can start a listing of all the different P-94's that are out there. Here is one that I have.

This is a 9x2 Layered Double.

50,813 -- rpm
237.8W -- power
79.4% -- efficiency
193Nmm -- torque

This motor winds up to peak surprisingly fast. After a skim cut on the comm the motor sounds like it is putting out even more rpm.

Sure doesn't take long before the comm needs a recut on this motor though.
