Ok. maybe not too far into the past. just about 10-11 years. anybody still have one? I still have mine and the original box. Still goes even. I kept my old Novak 610-RV and slot machine 2 from another car. Those things still work, and quite well. I even have a set of the old 3 piece rims that losi made. I even have the hydra-drive and original slipper setup for the truck. man, I think I may be a pack rat. I did sell off all of my old racing equipment, but that was when it was still the "hot" thing.
well, lets see if anybody else has one of these "classics." after all, I think this was one of the trucks that started the stadium truck fad. It may not have been the first stadium truck, but I think that it, and its competitor, had alot to do with the popularity of these things. so how about it...anybody want to reminisce...

Well, I don't have a Losi LXT but I love the classics. Do you have any pictures? I think it's neat to look at them and see how much things have changed.

I spent that money (for camera) on landscaping. I think my priorities are backwards, but my wife thinks otherwise!!!:D :p :D

hey guys, sorry no pics yet. I have been busy testing tires at Michelin Proving grounds and running suspension models and attending the SAE conferences here in SC. Hopefully I might have some time soon, but who knows.
hey ovalnator, was that the retro gas kit they sold in the early 90's? The ones that cost more than the truck? I remember when those came out. I nearly bought one, but I told myself: "It will never catch on." Boy was I wrong. Those things caught on like a greyhound chasing the mechincal bunny. Now they make more gas kits than electrics it seems.
Oh, and I still have the LRM tranny in mine. I liked the center diff and being able to adjust it w/o pulling a dog bone. and remember what Losi called the material for the A-arms/chassis/tranny case, "Stifazell," wasn't it? Classic...

I HAVE ONE!!!! I love it to death, i just bought a replacement chassis off ebay.... I'd get one as a back up, their 12 bucks. Just type in Losi LXT and one'll pop up. I gotta mess with the servo in it, it's dirty so it doesn't turn as well as it should. I will post some pics when i can off yahoo. I fogot to add, can you get CVD's for the Losi LX-T?   :(

Hello,
I was just wondering if any of you had a problem breaking the front bulkhead on your LXT? I raced mine yesterday for the first time, and broke 2 front bulkheads. They broke where the front arms attach. I know that on the xxt and later trucks, there is a brace that ties the two hinge pins together, but not on my LXT! By my next race there WILL be a brace on my LXT!! Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks,
Larry

na, but my chassis cracked right behind the fron a arms.. i made a front chassis brace out of a top plate off a rustler.. i took off the servo mounts on the place, drilled 2 more holes, and it works. pretty stiff. Ghetto and hack, but i dont' wanna break anything

Hi, I'm new on this board this is my first message ;)
I just bought myself a LXT on ebay. It's runs pretty good and it's pretty fast. I dont know much about real hobby rc-cars. I only had cheap rc cars before, beside a Tamiya Monster Beetle a long time ago.
The other owner use to race it like 10 years ago. He removed the whole slipper cluch and put a custom made spur gear mount. Should I get the parts to make a slipper clutch again or it's not worth it?
I was wondering If there are any parts from other trucks like the XXT or the XXXT or the Evader ST that would fit the LXT, like bodies, rims shocks...... What's the main difference with a newer one?
I broke my front bulkhead the first time I tried it and I ordered 2 extra ones. I found a website that can get almost any parts. And I also ordered a few spare parts and gears. I paid quite a lot for it since I dont know anything about RC and I didn't know it wasn't worth much anymore, but I still really like it and I think it's nice and fast.
This is the truck specs:
All titanium turnbuckles
Titanium and aluminum screws throughout
Ball bearing steering
Titanium hinge pins
Lightweight aluminum axles
Custom made spur gear mount & slipper clutch eliminator
XX Retrofit Tranny
TEKIN 411G speed control
KO PROPO radio
Futaba 9601 high speed ball bearing servo
2 Airs motor cooling bodies
5 spur gears
19 pinion gears
11 pairs of tires
3 stock & 2 mod motors
Manuals
If somone still needs a copy of my manual I could either scan it all or photocopy it and send it. Just contact me at trisiaw@nbnet.nb.ca and let me know if you need it.
Sorry about the long post, if anyone else wants to talk about the LXT please reply!
Anyone here lives in New-Brunswick Canada???

Hey to all you guys.
I've been racing the old LXT's for many years and I think they are one of the best trucks around.
The question about the front bulkhead, the old black version is very brittle and they break easily. Losi has been producing a white version of the bulkhead that is not as brittle and seems to take hits a little better. I've broken many of the black ones and only one white one. Horizon Hobby has the white version.
I race my LXT every weekend at our local track and each time I get placed in the mod buggy class because I'm the only one running electric truck. This class always includes 4w drive too! The last four weeks, the ole' LXT has gotten me three 2nd place finishes and a TQ and 1st place finish.
"NOT BAD FOR 10-12 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY"
I'm also running the "xx retro-fit tranny" with the slipper clutch and not using the Hydra-Drive.
In case any of you are trying to find a body that fits the ole' LXT, the body I'm using is the current XXXT body. The part number is Losi's A-8026 "FURY TRUCK BODY" and it fits very nicely. Just don't use the marks they show for mounting the body. They do not match up but you can easily place your own correct ones.
If anyone needs a new chassis, there is a guy selling them on EBAY under LOSI LXT. He always has some on there.
If any of you need a copy of the original owners manual, I can send you one. I also have a copy of the "XX Retro-Fit" tranny manual as well. I'm offering these at no cost to you.
If anyone has any questions about the ole' LXT, just ask and I'll be happy to help if i can...
Thanks and keep all four rolling...

Here's a picture of my fully built JRX-T. It's kit box stock and brand NEW!!!
Is the "Retro" tranny available? Still?
grandpa
06-03-2003, 01:31 PM
It's no longer avail. Every once and a while, I've seen them on EBAY. There's not any on there right now. I usually check several times a day for LXT parts.
You can pretty much build your own by buying some of the parts from different distributors.
If it will help, I have an extra XX RETRO case. I also have the manual for the XX RETRO tranny and it also has a parts number listing.
Let me know if you would be interested...

I never had an LXT, but my first r/c car was a Losi Junior T. It had a Reedy Rage motor and a Hitec Lynx FM :D ! You're right, it does bring back memories. My cousin has the truck now, but he just got an e-maxx so I'm gunna see if I can get it back from him ;) .

I recently bought an LXT, it came with enough parts minus the body, to make a Losi Junior T.
I'm planning on restoring, and running the LXT as a basher...
The parts are still easily available, and Losi's vehicles are tough as nails.
I'll get pics up here once its all cleaned up!

I just got this truck from a friend. I plan on racing this weekend with it. It seems like a good sturdy truck. Except for the turnbuckles. I will need to replace them. If you know of a place online or someone that could email me a copy of the manual, please let me know. Here are a couple shots of it with the new body.

i got me one on a trade, then i got rid of it for like 15 dollars a few weeks ago. the one i had they had converted into a super street. it was cool but it needed a few parts that were kinda hard for me to get so i got rid of it to a guy who takes older cars like them into dragsters. i cant wait to see the finished car

I have a LXT that was converted from a Jrx-T, that i bought in 95' for $50 from a R/C show.
I raced it in a mod class a few years back and it still can out beat everyone on the track!
I'm currently restoring it from it's slumber in my closet and found that the Team Losi NXT and GTX uses the same front and rear suspension components which it make it easer to search for.
The best place for parts is horizon hobbies and any hole in the wall hobby store.
Also does anyone still have a manual for the Lxt?I got some spare parts to trade for it.:D

I have a manual. I got it for free from Losi. I just called them up and asked for it. It's not the actual book, just a copy on 8 x 11 regular paper, but it works. It's not a very good manual, but I hear thats just they way they were. I actually have a whole working truck minus a radio for it. It came with an RC10T I bought off ebay.
Call up losi and ask, they may still have them available. If not, let me know and I can bring it to work and copy it and mail it to you for the cost of shipping (which will probably only be buck or two)

Hey guys, I just stumbled on this site in my searches for info on the LXT. I recently moved to Orlando from a suburb in Chicago and I drove past a dirt track here and started grinning. The only track back home was shut down like 6 years ago so it's been a while since I was able to race on a track. I would constantly take it to skate parks and impress the skaters with my rail grinds and backflips off the gigantic ramps.
I just noticed the other day when i was inspecting it and cleaning it up that it has a crack on the front bulkhead where the right arm is. Do you guys have any lists of sites that still carry these types of parts? I think it would be a good idea to gather together all the resources in one place so people that still want to race these awesome trucks competetively would always know where to look for spare parts.
anyways, thanks and don't give up on this sweet machine! :)

You'll find that's normal wear for the original bulkheads (cheap plastic).I have the same problem.
You can find bulkheads for the LXT,NXT, and GTX (same bulkhead better material)- #LOS A1003 at ehobbies url http://search.ehobbies.com/?cat=Radio+Control&subcat=All&mfg=LOS&price=by+price&text=A1003&int=1&ext=1&x=10&y=9 or horrizon hobbie's url at http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/products/description.asp?prod=LOSA1003&pc=LOSA1003 good luck. :D

Thanks man! I'll be racin again in no time! Man this truck has been loads of fun. I bought it from a friend who bought it from a guy who used to race it 'professionally'. I'm not sure how professional he really was or if the name 'Sean Scott' rings a bell but its pretty nice and has served me well. Most electric trucks are left behind when my LXT hits the track, I love it when an old car can do that. :)

Thats a cool body! what is it, a Dahm's slammer body?Is that a xxt shock tower on it!? If so, how did you get the shock tower to fit?
Nitro T
04-11-2004, 08:58 AM
Nope, it's the LXT shock tower. And yes, it's the Dahm's slammer body. My LHS had it sitting on the shelf and couldn't get rid of it so he sold it to me for $5! (He said the body was on the shelf for about 6-7 years!)
Thanks for the reply. I have a new body for it that I will be using this year. It's from McAllister. It's their Chevy SSR body. Go to the paint and body forum here and check out the thread I started for it. It looks a lot better than the pics. I'll get better ones today sometime.
Talk to you later.

I got a LOSI LXT for sale. It has the XXT upgraded tranny in it and it comes with alot of extra suspension and tranny parts. It also comes with a body, extra chassis, and the owners manual. I will only ship to the lower 48 states. Install your electronics and it's ready to race. This truck is in very good condition.
I'm asking $90.00 plus whatever S+H are going to be. That sound like alot of money, but you'll be getting alot of extra parts. Almost enough to build a second truck with.
I can be reached on here or by email at: kc5suz@aol.com
