Any suggestions about what rally kit to get?
I want to bash around in the park and want a kit where I dont have to clean too much and it can take a beating.

It's not my auction, nor do I have anything to do with the guy.
Tamiya cars are virtually bulletproof and the TB01 comes in a rally configuration.

if you have read any of the other posts everyone says that they love their cars. i know that i and a few other guys on this site have put our cars through hell. but the only one i have heard that is bad is the pure ten by kyosho. all i know is the hpi and losi are all praise

RS4 Rallys are really awsome for all around use but they dont have sealed drivetrains. I personally hate to use the underbody cause it gets so hot so I usually run without it. I know I shouldnt do it but I have yet to have any problems running on my dirt road. The only other weakness I can think of is that the ball ends tent to break when the going gets really rough. Good luck!

Whether bashing OR competing, you can't beat this car for $80 brand new in a sealed box.

TAMIYA
It doesnt matter whether you get a TL01 or a TB01, just get a Tamiya!
my friend has a HPI rally and he had to rebuild his diffs because he got a ton of sand in them. The rally is sealed terribly. He said his TL01 is a better rally car(*note* He bought an on road version of the TL01) because:
1) Hes never broken anything on it
2)It has a sealed drive train so dirt cannot get in it
If you have your heart set on the rally though, go for it!

when i used my tl01 as a rally, the battery really takes some abuse, and its suspension travel isnt near what it needs to be.but it is a brick of a car,ive had mine for over a year and have only had to replace two parts:the pinon gear, and a new gear set.
if you use a tl01 as a rally, use the little cardboard doughnut that fits between the motor and chassis, with out it,sand can,and will get into the transmission.

Just so you know, the Losi has a completely sealed drivetrain as well. And parts are still plentiful and cheap, unlike Tamiyas (which is my main problem with them.)

A more non specific answer but a good rule of thumb. "Real" racers like your RC10's, Losi, HPI etc the high end high dollar cars are expensive and DELICATE for racing on a track only. "Bashers" are the the cheap ones with little to any serious tech stuff. Just stay on the cheap end and go for ever looks neat to you.

i dont know any specific cars in mind, but tamayas are really god for rally.

If you want nitro (which you prolly don't 'cause you posted in the elec. forum), Thunder Tiger has some really awesome looking Subaru type rally cars. They look awesome and have (from the looks) great ground clearance and they are shaft driven, best 4 4wd off-roading. If you want elec., get a Tamiya shaft driven.

Go for what you want to get, but without a price-cap, you can get anything you want. Hell get a Radio Shed RC if that's what you want.
But make sure you get something with a flat pan without open holes in the bottom for off road baja style fun. Or make a chicken plate for your chassis.

Check out the new Kyosho Alpha 2!
They look very good and they are shaft driven, that means they don't need too much cleaning!
I never had any problem with Kyosho cars.
It is also a new car.
Of course Losi Street weapon is very good!

No, don't buy not only the cheapest car, but the one that is completely sealed both chassis and drive train wise! Buy the one that cost more for GREAT JUSTICE.
Ehm.

I agree with greenmuse. You can find Tamiya TA02 cars for cheap now since they're old. My friend has one labeled as the New Beetle kit. All it takes to make it rally is a change of shock position. Completely sealed drivetrain and a tub chassis. It'd be hard to get dirt in there.
They're durable too. His car was run over by a full-size Miata and still run fine (no joke).
They're a fun challenge to drive since they're front wheel drive, with the motor up on front. It's definetely something different.
