I have a P2K Pro in my TC3, and today I was about to run it around on the street with some friends, but when I hit the throttle, the car didn't move, and smoke just poured out of the motor. I took the motor home, opened it up, and put it back together. It turned more freely then, but it still smoked. I'd like to know what this is, how (if?) I can fix it, and whether or not I should just toss this motor and get a new one. Thanks.

I'm going to put my money on it being a short in the armature and that smoking was the epoxy burning. You can get a new armature for about $13... it's cheaper than buying a whole new motor.

Take the motor apart and inspect the winds, a wire can snap causing the motor to short out. The other thing could be that a brush spring can short on something but that would be gone. Install another motor to be sure it's not your ESC or other part causing the motor to short or a wire, that touching a part of the chassis. How much oil did you use for the bushings and what type.
