I love my TQ.But let me tell ya.I am getting bent out of shape with shock towers.I do not land on my lid like i was a few months ago.But when I do look out.I installed braces with rod Like alot of us have to help the problem.Help hell no.On a outing this week I rolled ofter a jump when i went to investigate the crash what a mess. Both shock towers bent. 1/4 inch rod bent.Plus broken gear case/bulk head.I have ordered .125 inch thick graphite towers. Also working on makeing
braces that go from shock tower to top plate.i'll see if this help's.Or maybe I am a maniac with a heavy finger.will see.

Dang dude that sucks. I havent bent anything on mine yet but these body posts keep breaking on me. I think its mostly the colds fault. I just sent out 7 of them for a free replacement. 5 of them are my fault for flying around without the body on and flipping.
I live in RI and havent found a track yet. I really havent looked hard because of this weather. Where in CT are you? I live in Newport RI, but grewup in Westerly and Hopkinton.

GT, Warwick is just a few minutes from providence (South)
I havent been racing this year yet but tracks seem to be popping up around here. There is also a few tracks in Mass which Big Boy Toys host. I'm very interested in the Providence hobby shop and the Warwick one also. I'm usually in Warwick once every two weeks so maybe this weekend I'll go investigate that track.
I'll keep you updated.

Ohh yea, As long as I can get the weekend off for the Maxx class races in CT, I wanna be there with my TQ. I think I could keep up with them or spank them with my new O.S RZ-V01B . I cant seem to find the Providence hobbyshop in the yellow pages? It must be either new or non-existance.

Speedtester,One more thing.I myself am planing on getting that same engine for my TQ.Did you have to do anything special to put it in.Or is it a direct fit. Also looking at a SH megatech .21 6 port 2.40@33000 rpm.About the same as the o.s. engine.I need some input from someone who has the O.S. What do you think about it

I havent received it yet. I was so pissed last night when trying to find a engine instock I finially gave up and ordered this one. I'm hoping it will be a direct fit but things never go as planned. Once I get everything setup I'll post my results and Pics. I found Insane toys on a map now I have to find it in person.

Speedtester,I have good luck with r/c car kings they always have a good stock. What other engines were you looking at?Where did you find yours?

I was looking for anything of the Picco flavor. Mostly wanted one of the mild ($199-230) ones but after many minutes to 4 different hobby shops I gave up. They all had the same responce.
"I dont know whats up with Picco but we havent received any engines for a while now")
I ordered the O.S from Tower. They get the stuff two my door for 6 bucks in 2-3 days.
Tower Price for the O.S was 289.99 - $10 off coupon.

Man I wish I had known you were having problems. My LHS down here is knee deep in G1 Pro, G1 B, and G1 Pro BV's. They sell the G1 B for $219.
They seem to keep a good stock of engines.

Ahhh Man, It's crazy that the major online hobby shops dont have any Picco stock. I checked my LHS and they had none either.
Whats the name of your hobby shop? I wonder if the do any mail order.

Dropping in another engine is simple, and HIGHLY recommended, and the very first thing I did when I got my TQ back in December.
If it's a pilot shaft engine, you just need to cut off the shaft at where the threads start.
I've bent every axle and every bone along the driveline, other than the little front center one, with putting in a O.S. RZ.
I just finally got all my parts back from Duratrax, after a month and a half wait, and I think I'm just going to build it again and put it on Ebay.

Oh yea, your right on the towers. The stock aluminum is some of the weakest aluminum I have come across.
So I had these made by a company callede SaBR
Titanium shock towers. Have yet to try them out though because I've been waiting sooo long to get my parts back from Duratrax.
