I know it has nothing to do with R/C Cars but can I paint helmets with the Alclad paints? This would make some sweet helmets.

Yes, but there is also Alclad paints for this type of thing, which is the reverse process of painting lexan. You put down a coat of black (enamel I think with those), then spray the chrome, then a clear coat.

I use the same paint that you would use on an R/C body when I paint helmets. I just use a water-based clear coat.
