I'm getting an electric monster truck at the end of the summer, by then i will have enough $$ to buy the truck and hop it up a little. I was thinking about getting the txt-1, with trinity monster maxx motors, and the evx speed control. It's pretty much going to be like the txt-1 in the newest issue of rcca. If there are other trucks better let me know. I'm not going to get the e-maxx. I'd like to stick with Tamiya. :D

Well, if you're a Tamiya man, the Juggernaut 2 and the TXT-1 are the only way to go. Clodbusters rule too, but you get so much more for your money with the newer kits.

The monster maxx motors + EVX + stock tranny combo = broken gears. If your going to be using 14.4v speed controls, you need to either get a E-Maxx tranny and install it, or get derlin gears for the TXT-1 tranny. The gears cost more than the e-maxx tranny does, but install the maxx tranny can be a real pain too.

you might want to check out the TXT-1 thread in the electric monsters forum, its got TONS of info on TXT-1s, and what people have done to them (including myself).

Not really cause the clodbuster outruns the Jugg2. Ihave owned both and the Jugg 2 i never drove cause it was to slow and always flipped so i sold it. The Clod has good speed and great power. Also there are tons of clod upgrades out there. Check JPS and ESP. :D

Thats kind of a misleading statement. Speed is based almost entirely on what motors you use.

With the stock silver can motors, that may be true, but with a minor motor upgrade that can easliy change.

I've been to a few NR/CTPA racing events, and talked to the diehard R/CMT racers, and you ask any of them what there best racer is and they'll tell you without a doubt the Clod. They do race there TXT-1s and the Jugs but they are in the Replica Classes. They are to low geared for racing, and they loose alot of torque going threw the center transfer case and the long drive lines, then finaly to the dfront and rear axles. The Clod is a better racer, perfect gear ratio, lighter than the Jug, or TxT-1, and the most important reason is direct motor drive on the front and rear axles.

So if you want to race, or plan on modifcation any way go with the Clod, if you want a good truck out of the box go with the TXT-1.

Or you know what I'd recommend! LOL none of the above! USA-1 baby, independant! Be different!;)

Yes, the T/E-Maxx bodies fit on the TXT-1. From what I understand, all you have to do is cut a hole for the antenna, the body holes will line up perfectly.
