Here is the story:
My friend had a really really, I mean REALLY ugly body he got with his T3. I was over there and we decided we would throw it onto my truck and set it on fire since I had my beater truck there. So got it mounted on there, took outside poured gas all over it, it was so funny when we lit it, the tires were even on fire, and the gas got inside my motor, and all over the rear end of the truck, so I was like oh man we should put this out, oh well, so I kept driving around till it was out, the body was scorched so we took what was left of the body and burnt it to the ground. I looked at my truck, and I just had the antenna wrapped around the back which was stupid because it was on fire, so it got all melted up, and luckily I had plastic wrap over my ESC to waterproof it because most of that was burnt off, and the rear of the truck was a but melted in some places, perfectly fine though and driveable , was great.
Now here is the thing, I had to replace my melted antenna wire, so I unsoldered the original one from the chipboard, then cut another wire of the exact same length and guage, and soldered that on. It hasnt given me trouble, so should that really effect the performance? I think not.
Just though I'd share this with you and see what everyone has to say. :D
