YAY!!! I finally got my Stampede on Thursday!!! It appears to be a great truck so far! I am on a very tight budget with this kit so I decided to chop up the tires to look like Pro-Line Masher 2000 tires. Traction is a lot better on uneven surfaces now.

The work took two hours! Here is a picture of the stock tires after the work.

Nitro or electric? Man, those tires look like the real masher 2ks, I thought they were for a second there!!!

First I drew lines, with a thin permanant marker, where the cuts were to be made. That's 4 lines around each tire. Then I made the initial cuts with a small wire cutter by snipping once on both sides of each line(20 treads x 4 lines X 2 snips x 4 tires = 640 snips....hence the two hours of work.) Finally, the sections were cut out with a very sharp utility knife.

Here is a closeup of the treads:

Welcome CR125 to the boards.
You did an excellent job of cutting your tires there man.
Whenever you get the money buy the M2K's. They will give you excellent traction and look awesome. When I got mine on my ole Pede they gripped so good I flipped it alot and scratched my body.

I've done that sort of. Wasn't able to find a sharp enough utility knife though, the rubber is pretty hard on those tires. Maybe I'll try again sometime.

I dont know if you guys noticed, but this thread is 2 years old :D
I thought those were masher tires before I read that they were not  I may have to do that to my 'pedes tires. :D
