hey guys, I could reall use some of your technical expertise... I went to the store today and boutght this neon lighting stuff I thought I would try to use on my gt... problem is that after I opened it I realized that it came with a 12 volt transformer that plugs into a ciggarette lighter. I know of one other individual I had seen using the same stuff but with a batter pack. I tried a nine volt on it but it didn't work. i am ready to scrap the idea and go with the led idea but if I could make this work I would like to do it... If you have any advice on this subject please post it here or write me directly at chrissmith90@hotmail.com I sure would appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks for your time...

Without know what you actually have its hard to help you. Can you find a web site with the product you are trying to use? If not can you describe in detail what the product is (actual neon tube, or electroluminescent paper, etc). The first thing I would do would be to hook up the supplied transformer to a 12volt source and measure the output that is supposed to power the "neon" (use a voltmeter).

if 12v is your primary input, then what is the secondary output(should say on the tx)
