Does anybody use canned spray paint to paint bodies? Can you do a good job with it or is it just a waste of time?

Pics of canned spray paint jobs?

Thanks for any pics or replies.

As long as you use Pactra or Tamiya brand paint for Lexan, you can do some incredible paint jobs with paint cans. All it takes is some masks, effort and a lot of imagination!

I was wondering about the canned spray paint you get at the hardware store. Probably a stupid question. Can you use that? I'm sure you can use anything, but will it work well? or Do you have to use the specific paint for lexan?

As Haunted Myst said in his previous post... to paint clear lexan R/C car bodies you HAVE to use paint especially formulated for lexan. This paint has binding agents that "over-the-counter or hardware store paints" don't have. Typically you can get "lexan" paint at your local hobby shop. If you try to use the non-lexan paint it will just flake off at the first bump. Hope this helps and steers you away from certain disaster.......

And another thing when painting with rattle cans, run them under warm or hot water, it helps boost the pressure and keeps the spray a little more consistent.

hope this and the others info helps a little.

another spray trick is you can get a nice fade with a rattle can just take a piece of cardboard and hold it like a 1/4 inch from your work then shoot towards it easy rattle can fade

Thanks for the info. I might use the cans before I get an airbrush to see if it worth it.
