Guys, this should be easy for some of you to answer.

I am waiting on my Eclipse brush to get here, and am trying to decide what compressor to get.

I have read most of you suggest the wal-mart $100 compressor over the "model" compressors. Since it is cheaper, will do the same thing, and prolly has a bigger tank.

*Question #1: How quiet is the wal-mart one? I would like to run it in my basement. It says it is quiet, but that doesn't tell me much, lol

Now, for my second question. Instead of spending $100 on the compressor, I was thinking of just getting a tank(with reg. and moisture trap). wal-mart sells a 7 gallon tank, for like $20. Is 7 gallons big enough? How many bodies do you think 7 gallon tank would paint, before I had to refill? (using faskolor, so whatever psi for that)

So, I need you guys to suggest the tank or compressor, and then tell me how loud it is :D

Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, I can answer #1 Quiet is relative and in this case, it isn't quiet enough to have a relative sitting next to it and still watch tv at the same time, but if you are in another room, its not so loud that it will bother them from there. Knowing what that my tank doesn't hold much pressure in it, so I doubt a 7 gallon tank would do more then one body. It seems like poor choice to me.

Well, this is the second person that has said it is not too loud. I don't mind it making some noise, but I live in an townhouse, and don't want the neighbor getting mad, when I am painting in the basement. The wal-mart compressor sounds like the ticket then! Thanks. Now, since it has a small tank, will I get alot of "pulsing" from it, becuase it has to turn on alot, or will it be smooth and not have to worry while painting?
