After stripping the paint off an old body i decided to experiment. I"m working with a chevy silverado rc10gt body and i'm putting flams in the middle of the doors and roof. I have metallica blue on the back end ..where the flames go into. I want to paint the front of the body metallic red with some oranges and yellows in the flames .. right now i have the blue painted with the flames masked .. i want to know .starting at the tip of the flames ..what color should i use and what techniques are involved.. thanks

Well, having painted few flames in my day, here's my advice...

First, take the color you want at the tips. I guess for you that's red. Spray a very light coat, and spray most of it on the blue part. The idea is to just let the smallest bit get on the flames themselves. That way the fade will be more natural. Then do the same with the next lightest colorm but spray most of it on the red so the overspray will start to fill in the flames. Then paint the main color of the flames.

There you go. That's how I'd do it, anyways...
