Thanks

I dont know if there is a way to mechanically lock the center diff, but I have heard of using very heavy diff fluid such as 30,000 wt.

I'm getting the GT Spur kit from Performance Parts Plus for mine. It puts a solid spool in the center AND it adds the humongous Monster Pirate spur gear for loads of torque. Their web addy is www.perfplusparts.netfirms.com if you're interested.

Otherwise, just dissasemble the center diff and fill it w/ caulk. It locks it out nicely, but it's hard to remove if you ever want to undo it.

You can simply order the center diff from an Ofna GTP. It is just a solid shaft with a hub set screw on it. The spur bolts to the hub. I got the GT kit and Roll cage from Ron and it is a totally different truck. Then I put on the MT3 wheels on it and it is uncontrollable. I went back to the stock spur and left the MT3's on the truck. Much better. Go buy a $20 spool for the GTP center and call it done.

Does anyone know how to pull wheelies with a blazer monster? I have some aluminum upgrades and a Ofna P4 engine. Otherwise it's pretty much stock.
Any clue?

you could put fuel tubing on the bottom of the rear shock so it doesn't compress when you slam on the gas this might help but I don't know how close you are to a wheelie right now.

How many are ready to get blazen? Got mines ready Tuesday, planned on hitting the dirt Wednesday, but its began raining on and off since and hasn't dried up yet.

Question- My batteries have been charged for several days now, should I dump the charge (and recharge) or just wait for the weather to break and go with it?

Guys,

I've had my monster blazer a year. I loved bashing through my yard and tearing up and down the street. I added some hop ups like aluminum clutch, perplusparts center spool upgrade (wow it really hauls) and replaced the rear dog bones with Universal joints. I even installed a new engine and haven't even put a full quart through it. But I switched to aircraft and want to buy more stuff for those. Can you recommend a good place to list my blazer? I'm selling everything (starter, remote, tools, spare parts).

Thanks for your help,
Jay

IMO the blazer is a pig, bit of a lemon, dont think much testing went with the manufactoring. think they just made a design and mass produced it. it has heaps of weak spots. the main one being its flimsy chas

For anyone who has a Blazer SST and manual: Can you tell me the ofna part number(s) for the Blazer SST body mounts?

Reason I ask is that I'd like to convert my 9.5 to a truggy, and since the Blazer is basically a 9.5/violater and uses the same shock towers, the body mounts should be a direct fit. Ofna has yet to post the Blazer SST manual to their website. A parts list posted on Nitro House says it is #33010, but a picture of that part set at Tower Hobbies shows the posts, a lateral plate, but shows no part to attach the posts to the shock tower. For the front, it appears to be a plastic part that bolts to the front of the shock tower which the lateral brace and posts screw into to. The rear appears to mount similarly. I'm wondering if a second component is required in addition to #33010?

that is the part number from nitrohouse. i just got parts from them to convert
my 9.5 to blazer. the only thing that worries me, they said the large bevel gear is 43t...everything i have seen says 47t. guess i'll find out when the weather clears here in md. to try it out.

Clean out the center diff very well, then fill with JB Weld. It works great.

I have heard that associated makes 300,000 wt silicone dif oil that will work also and still give the truck a little bit of a skipper unless u want it locked up tight...

Use motionmachine's hop up to make it a solid center diff. I did this and slapped on a stock force 26 .... 65t spur...14t cb.....and this thing eats everything up! LST (mine)....it'll take it.....REVO (bro's)...not a chance.....GS SUT....my buddy's left before me, I caught him before the turn and beat him back no problem. With the right tweaks the Monster Blazer (old school) is one of the best racers. This winter I'm re-doing the front & rear diffs w/ 30,000 and 7000 respectivly...and throwing in a Mach 26 motor and some bow ties....yeah...I did all that stuff before w/ stock diffs and stock wheels.

Was doing back flips with my Blazer on the weekend (off a skateboard ramp-, got some great footage) and one of the harder landings smashed up the cover of the front dif pretty badly. Any idea where I can order one or should I retire the old beast and move up to something newer?
