For an outboard Deep Vee, your easiest and cheapest bet would be with this Kyosho Speed Vee 800 w/Dolphin II 37" (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXS863&P=0) .

BTW, I'm buying a Yellow Jacket (all built with running hardware) from a guy for $65 shipped. I'll give you feedback on it.

Frank W is correct in my opinion on the Speed Vee 800. I am currently running one. The only problem for me is it is not fast enough in stock form. I am working on line under my same name, 'IA Sledder', on Rum Runners-- http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/feforums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=2http trying to gain some knowledge on how to and not to go faster.

If interested you can also go to http://www.picturetrail.com/iasledder/800939 and see some pictures of my boat.

Hope this may been of a little help. Good luck.---Jim

you have a great boat and also some great suggestions. i am running some deep vee that is actually decently powered the speed vee. i am currently in the process of putting a 550 maxx motor in it for this weakend. this should be fun. Clod on the beach boat in the water.

now all i need is some nitro and it will be all good

JT-- Have fun and that's what RC'n is about. Just in the learning stages myself.

With the help of Chris Fine and Andy Kuntz I am in my third up grade of the SV-8. Installing a Neo 775 BB and an ESC to match to run on 14 cells. Using water cooling motor and ESC. Replaced the plastic shroud for the flex drive cablein the leg with brass, then drilled a small hole thru the out-drive into the tubing so I can use a needle grease gun to grease the flex shaft. In addition blocked off the passage to the prop shaft and again added a small hole to keep bearing and shaft greased. Suggested prop is a 442. Just waiting on a couple of parts then off to the water.

In the mean time have been doing some upgrades on my Dumas Chris Craft. Pictures under "Where is Snoopy Today" on RRR.---Jim
