I need to adjust the timing on my motor. Its a speedgems 2 15T. Its the Jade one. I ran it today for the first time in ages, but it got wayyyyyyy too hot. I am running the suggested gearing, and I do not have anymore pinions that go lower, and I don't have money to spare. So I want to retard my timing a little. How do I do this? I know RCCA did an article on it, and after I type this I am going to try and locate the mag, but seeing how my RCCA collection is scattered about the house I doubt I will find it. If you guys could tell me how to do this, and include pictures if possible (unless its real easy) or just give me the issue (month and year) I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys.

its very easy.. there will be a mark on the side of the endbell.. and i'm not sure if those have little guides on the can or not.. but if it does 0degrees should be makred.. otherwise there is a small dimple in the can that would mark 0

if you turn the motor clockwise you are advancing the timing.. or anti-clockwise retards..

"if you turn the motor clockwise you are advancing the timing.. or anti-clockwise retards.."

i ment the endbell, not the motor.. :D

Actually Tycce, I did a search for this info and that post didn't appear. I did a cursory look over the thread and didn't see that one. But thank you for giving me the link. I will prolly reset the timing this weekend.

Ok, wow. I think I am gonna have to spring for a 15T or 14T pinion as well. I was running my truck today and after 3 min, my positive wire actually came unsoldered from the tab.
