My friend wants his first R/C car after he saw mine. He really likes the HPI Dash because of the price. I'm suggesting the Kyosho Alpha Honda S-2000 RTR for him because of the 540-size motor and the special price at Tower Hobbies ($110). Is the Kyosho better?

THe kyosho alpha is a decent car for bashing around with. If your LHs has parts for this car I say go for it, because it tends to get very annoying ordering parts for your car and spending xtra cash for shipping and handling.
yup as above. Whatever your LHS has more parts on would be the better way to go. Having a crumby parts supporter is extra money on shipping and if you break the car its gonna sit till the parts come in.

Good point... I know that the closest LHS only carries Tamiya R/C. I'll check if some of the other ones further away have Kyosho cars and parts.
