Im looking for a new charger, and Ive been looking at the Pitbull and the Millenium. From what I hear at my local track:

Pitbull:
Pros:
-Charges very punchy
-Long Lockout

Cons:
-No Reverse Pulse

Milennium
Pros:
-Reverse Pulse
-Harness for pitwizard

Cons:
-Charges not as punchy

What do you think? The only other charger I would really look at is the KO Propo one.

I am thinking of getting a new charger too. From my knowledge, the pitbull works the best : P

Thats what I keep hearing, but the Millenium has the upgradable software and the Reverse Pulse.

I have the PitBull, and it has worked great for me. I currently use it as a #2 to my T-35.

If you use Novak programable speedos, it may be the better deal for you, as with the Pit Wizard software built right in, you can adjust your settings without the accual Pit Wizard itself.

Don't forget the Millennium Pro has Novaks exclusive NiMH2 charge mode. It truly does keep you NiMH cells in battery condition for more charge cycles. There is no difference in "Punch" that we know of. We have tested more packs than I care to remember. Please email me if anyone has any question. tech@teamnovak.com

I'm using this little bugger

I simply love the autocharge mode, determines the charge rate based on IR. My 2400s can get pumped with 8A current, and comes off just as cool as my old integy/eagle cdc charger. It charges up at low amps, and hits the high amps mid way, and then as the pack peaks, the current drops. Lovely.

A super high end charger this: http://www.schulze-elektronik.com/isl6-e.htm

But the price of the charger (top of the line) costs about 3 x TA04Rs....

Wow, that last charger looks pretty cool. Out of my price range, though.

Im still torn. Has anyone used both?

We looked at both chargers, and I played around with both of them at the track over a few weekends... There were only two real drawbacks for the Pitbull that I found, the automatic trickle charge can't be disabled after a pack is done and also (of course, you're always paying for the name with everything) the thing just costs more... The upsides of the M-Pro's (the charge profiles, nimh2 mode, reverse pulse, pit wizard, CHEAPER, etc.) were so numerous we bought two and haven't looked back...

Get the Millenium.

If your limiting the choices between the Pitbull and the Novak, I'd personally recommend the Novak. All the features listed above make it an outstanding charger. If you're willing to entertain the thoughts of another charger though, look into the Integy 16X5. I like the way this thing works. It might be all in my mind, but I think my batteries come off of this charger with a better charge.

You could also look into the Reedy Quasar Pro. Main advantage of this charger is that it is AC/DC so you don't need to buy a separate power supply.

OK, thanks for the opinions. Im leaning towards the Novak, but I still hear that the Pitbull is punchier from the guys at my track.

Can you disable trickle charge on the Millenium?

Yes, you can(& when charging NiMh's, you need to). Really, the only thing the PitBull can do that the Millenium doesn't is have a cold start mode(that's the ability to start the charger & it'll disable peak detection for a few minutes, so it doesn't false-peak, then a few minutes into it it'll begin to monitor the pack for peak detection). Honestly, while I like that feature(my Tekin BC112a has it the same as the PitBull), I don't consider it an absolute MUST have, & the Milleniums allow you SO much control over EVERY aspect of the charge you won't miss a cold-start mode. Also, I suspect your friends at the track are pulling your leg a bit, as the brand of charger you have should have NO impact on how "punchy" your car feels, if they really believe it then they weren't setting their other chargers correctly.....:)
