Anybody on the list have experience with the WesTec servo 'kits'. I've finished the assembly on a twin system, for use with the GWS 4P receiver (Futaba) and the related small ESC, also from GWS. I have absolutely no responce from either servo. Is there a possibility that these servos might be for the opposite shift R/C systems. I know the receiver is working, because other servos work. Anyway of telling what shift is required (if that is the problem).
Out of guesses

It's not a "shift" problem, that is only between tx & rx. Any modern servo should work fine with any modern rec. Thats about all I can offer.

Hello Byron,
Your problem is a bit of a puzzle. As was mentioned, the servos don't care about the shift. If you can connect another servo to the same output, that should give you info on the receiver output. I have two Westech servo kits that have done a great job for a long time.
Question? When you apply power, does the servo "twitch" or give any indication of getting power? Can you rotate the output by hand smoothly? Do you have a voltmeter to confirm that the 5 volts is getting to the amplifier board?
The fact that you have two at the same time that do not work implies that something went together amiss.
Take care, Dave

Hi Dave:
Thanks for the responce. Yes, I've checked the receiver circuit with a Cirrus -10 servo and it functions just fine. I checked, and have 5 vdc at both boards. The servo motors have never twitched. I've set up the gears so that theres just the smallest backlash. I agree, something seems to be amiss, and I just can't see it. Its like trying to proof read your own article. I'm going to have another go at it tonight.
Regards
Byron
