Give Warehouse Hobbies a call at: 1-863-699-1231. They sell both Homelite-type and Zenoah-powered gasboats, plus they can help you with info on setups, hulls, etc. you might want.

That's a tough question to answer. If you have a local group that run both nitro and gas-powered boats and/or a hobby shop that sells both kinds of R/C powerboats, you can get plenty of info on what might be best for you.
But if you have little access to either type of R/C boats and you're looking at a gasboat (going by your last question); a RTR boat from such outfits as Horizon, Warehouse or Prather might be the way to go.

On my big gas boats I use a standard servo for throttle, and a quarter scale servo for the rudder. The zenoah Is a nice light high performance engine, but I heard they can be hard to start, and very touchy to keep tuned, Im not sure if they come with a clutch yet or if you even want one. If you put an after market clutch on it be careful, some after market clutches just dont hold up well, and many people have gotten hurt when they let go. The homelite is heavier but a little more user friendly. I had a stock homelite. I put on a watercooled head, big bore carb, and tuned exhaust, and was happy with it. I now have a have a cobra in my 48 inch aeromarines. Its a nice engine but I dont think it's all its hyped up to be. Like RickE said Get ahold of someone. especialy if you have a LHS. See what they have and what they say, only problem alot of LHS dont get into boats at all, especialy big gas, probably due to the higher cost. Good Luck and take care.

Warehouse Hobbies has recently begun to carry the Zenoah marine engines, and since they specalize in gasboats with clutch-equipped engines, they've already developed a clutch setup for the Zenoah. Check their website or checkout R/C Boat Modeler Magazine as they normally have several pages of ads in each issue.
Hope this helps,
