Go with the Dynamite Red seal bearings. You wont be disappointed.

i see they are 24$ for 8, is there any other ones that can challenge that price & performance?

Go with the Dinamite Red Seal bearings, I did, and you get what you pay for.

Most bearings are just fine. Either way you go, just take good care of them, and they should last you many moons. :)

... and NEVER use Teflon in them.

Bearings are Bearings. If they got two metal rings (one smaller then the other), metal ball in side the rings, and a protective sealer on them, then buy them.:D :D :D

jdm3849- Good thing you waited cuz I think I have the answer to your question. Dynamite Red Seals are way to expensive for some bearings. Don't pay extra for red seals. No one can see them anyway. You can buy cheaper bearings that are just as good. When I upgraded the bearing carriers on my Rustler I got the Duratrax Teflon sealed bearings. You get 10 so you will have 2 extra for only $12.99.

These are stainless and cost $14.99. I don't know if they are any better or not.

They are great and the seals work great.

Don't forget to take the bearings out of your wheels (5 X 8) and put them in the steering bellcranks and take out the bushings in the bellcranks.

Get either Acer or Dynamite bearings, you get what you pay for. I bought a set of teflon sealed ones from Dynamite and they have lasted for about two years now.

i dont think the stampede takes steering bearings, its steering isnt that much like the rustlers, all it has is a small servo saver and turnbucklces

Oh really? Well you could use the extra ones in case you blow a bearing in the tranny.

ACER Racing bearings are the best. I have been using them for 3 years on all my cars with no hitch, especially the 5x10 clutch ceramics are bulletproof.

Metal shielded bearingas are the cheapest and provide the least amount of protection from dirt and mud entering the bearing. On lots of RTRs these are what are used. Step up are a rubber sealed bearings, these use better seals to keep out dirt and etc but they have some drag between the rubber seals and the bearing races. Next set up are the teflon sealed bearings - these have teflon seals and offer the same protection as the rubber sealed brgs without the drag.

Price is based on seal type and bearing quality. As long as you maintain them, the metal sealed cheap ones do fine. If you don't want to spend time maintaining them, buy something better and forget about them. This is where bearings like the Dynamite red seals or Boca's green seals come in.

and the award for bumping another 3 year old topic goes to "interlahos" congratulations >_>

i really doubt its even worth replying to this with valid info anymore because odds are he has bought his bearings by now...
