Feel free to post away. What I dont' understand is why this car isn't that popular here? Shouldn't the front one-way and one way pulley allow higher cornering speed than most of the competition?

is it MR4TC touring car?

car isn't that popular here? here is where?

my place if it is MR4TC, mostly evryone using it. they all love Masami and they follow him.

i can only say this, IMHO, ball diff for tighter track and one-way for sweeping corner and open.

I was thinking about getting a new Yokomo MR4TC World Champs edition version. What are the differences between the 'Special' and the 'World'?

here in Socal, it seems like the Yoks are dying...no one uses them anymore...I think everyone is waiting for a new car from yokomo...

Sorry, but i have no idea. I was wondering what is the top-of-the-line Mr4tc, and if these cars are up for replacement? Cuz they're pretty nice...

i just got my mr4tc se last week. i had a race on saturday and i was hoping to get it in time. i finally got it all set up by friday and had enough time to run two packs through it. when i got to the track i hadnt ever really driven it and i showed up late and didnt have time to practice. i ended up winning the a main in the stock class. i thought that was pretty good since it has been over a year since i have raced on road. i used to have a tc3 but it doesnt even compare to my yokomo. it is my new favorite car.:D

I was going to get a new TC3 FT but then I decided on getting the MR4TC SP. I had the Pro before and it was really fast and handled great. I think the new SP will be even better. I don't care for the one ways at the track I race at as it is just too tight for a one way to give you any advantage.

I should get my new SP Thursday or Friday. It should fly with my new packs I just bought last week. Can't wait to get another Yoke.:D

jfc_tech
08-07-2002, 06:43 AM
wyd: the SP comes with standard two one ways. one in the centre shaft and one in front. unless u have spare ball-diff for the front, u have to live with the two one-ways included standard with the MR4TC SP. (i believe u have known this before hand...just my humble opinion.)

wyd

jfc_tech I know the SP has two one ways. I also ordered a extra diff and the locking topshaft. Last night I took the one ways out and put in the diffs and the locking topshaft. I also put on some 2 degree rear alum. hubs from GPM. I used the GPM 2 degree blocks on my Pro version and really liked the results.

If all goes well I will run my new Yoke on Saturday. I just need to put in a new 104 tooth 64 pitch spur gear and paint up a new Protoform Stratus 2.0. I need to also get some new Jaco purple foams. It won't take long to put in my electronics. I think it will be all done by the weekend. If it is really nice out though I might be riding my 4 wheeler so my racing will have to wait til next weekend.

I really expect the Yoke SP to be really fast and with a little tuning I'm sure it will run great.

well now in SoCal, all i see is the xxx-s, tc3, and the yokomo mr4tc, pro. tc3 is dying and xxx-s is getting boring, but somehow oldschool cars are getting popular. for instance : the rc10l, yokomo tc/pro, yokomo yr4, xx-cr's are numbre uno crazy!
yokomo's are all mostly i see

oh! and one time i saw brian kinwald, and barry baker here at SoCal ones! amazing (but i dont care though, not anymore)

not too many seem to have one of these cars. im getting one today, i have a tc3 but i dont really like it that much. it handles good but its boring somehow and everyone has it.. i have a Cyclone esc, ko propo ps2015 servo and hitec lynx FM radio in the tc3 that im going to pput int the mr4tc special :) and another good thing is that theres a guy selling spares for yokomo at the races and even practicing, i broke two a-arms on my tc3 last weekend. i avoided hitting a slower car and went full speed with a 17x2 turn motor straught in the wall, two times... just ram em and your car will hold together :D oh, i also prefer belts over shaft, its not nearly as noisy and the gearing is easier to change should you have to.

nici
02-26-2003, 03:06 PM
crap. the cyclone is 2mm too big to fit in the chassis :p i guess ill have to dremel ther chassis some.. and i also need to get a much smaller receiver. the room to mount the receiver AND the esc is 41x71mm  this is only the Special version, the normal has much more space.

nici
03-01-2003, 11:45 AM
Yello! i cant be the only one with this car thats alive can i? anyways, i got my cyclone to fit, i dremeled the esc a bit. I took away the things for the screws that come a bit out from the case and it fitted perfectly :) also took the wires out on the other side. and i got my receiver to fit too :) just have to wait till sunday to try this, also if you get the SSG(Silver Surface Graphite) chassis and parts this has to be one of the coolest cars availabale! shock towers, chassis, the upper plate, battery holder and some other parts in stuff that seems to be carbon with silver surface

Yeah I'm thinkning of getting one, but I don't know if my electronics would fit. Maybe I'll just let them hang over the edge (that okay? As long as they don't rub the body).

the special chassis is really narrow and has a lip that will prevent you from hanging the electronics over the edge. to gain a little extra space, use the optional steering part to set your servo sideways on the chassis, cut the ears off your servo and mount to the chassis with shoe goo. then put your reciever on its side and you will have enough space to mount almost any esc . i like to use shoe goo to mount all electronics as long as it has overnight to dry its easy to peel off if you need to redo anything without leaving any stick residue

I never intended buying an on-road until I came across a MR-4TC Custom Chassis Kit at a LHS. The RC section seems to be waning and I ended up getting the kit for $65 because there were some obviously missing parts (2 tires). It turns out, the 2 tires and inserts were the only things missing. Lucky me.

Anyway, can somebody explaing the lineage of the MR-4TC. I'm assuming there was something before the Custom, and there are three upgrades for the Custom (one with the one way diff/low friction belts/threaded shocks, one upgrade to the Special, and one that configures to the World Champion replica).

Where does the Pro fit into this? And how does the YR4 and Rally relate?

Thanks.

I just picked up a used mr4-tc special used and didnt get any instructions with it,I have been to yokomo's site and downloaded the instruction manual but what I need wasnt in there.I need to know what pinion gear I should run with a 10x2 motor?I am not sure but I think the spur is the stock 81 tooth. Also I was wondering what weight oil I need to use for the shocks as they were not full when I got the car.Looking at the manual I found no referance to what weight was used.I have the stock 3 hole pistons in but no other.I dont think the springs that came with it are stock but I am not sure as the manual doesnt give a color for that either, they are fl yellow and fl orange.I think that I read you should have the stifffer ones in the back but if I am right, thats not how they were installed,fl ora front, fl yel rear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

nice car...im running almost the same specs. looks a little dirty though:(.
i used to run my TB02 as my only car, but thats been shelved and the electronics are now in my recently attained MR4, which i got for 150, built but never run.

Novak Fusion Dual Profile
Hitec Radio System w/standard S3003
HPI Black Mesh rims with HPI procompound X-Patterns[front]
Tamiya Mugen rims with same tires as above[rear]
Rebuilt 19T motor

Im going to leave it stock as i see no reason to mod it. I plan to focus on suspension and gearing to get the most from the car.

Does anyone know where I can find a parts list for a Yokomo MR4TC Pro or Special. I bought a parts car off ebay and am trying to getting running again. I already have a Special and the Special direction, but can't find the part numbers for the Steering Blocks of the Front Hub Carriers.

Thanks,

not sure what category this falls under, but i just recently picked up an MR4-TC and i can't seem to find any info on it. it's definately not the "pro special edition" because it has plastic shocks, outdrives and the drivetrain is completely sealed with a clear piece of plastic so you can view the belts.

how much can this car handle being that it has plastic outdrives?

is this the same car as the pro special edition?
