My villians speed control

My boats speed control is running out of control and the only thing I can detect the screw has fallen off (the inside one) what can I do to fix this???Also can you put a gas motor inboard or out board in this model??? Can the speed control be fixed without sending it in??

You can remove the speed control from the boat and re-install the screw. The Mechanical unit on the Traxxus is a basic motor controller; so, it isn't too tough to work on.

I'd avoid trying to alter the boat for gas/OB power-it would take a lot of modifying to get it running, plus you'd then have to get the boat's handling right, which would likely mean adding a bunch of lead weight to the hull.

One of my friends uncles tryed to fix it but it fell off again,this is the neutral screw...How do you re install it?Is it easy??How many turns can I go to make my boat go faster??

Try putting a drop of CA on the screw after re-installing it-but only a drop to prevent sticking-up the controller. A pair of 17-turn motors will likely be the lowest-turn units that the stock speed control can handle, but check the Traxxus website-they might list some suitable hotter motors for your Villian.

Rick, I opened the speed control and now the screw is missing now what do I do??I mean its gone...Help!!!:(

You're going to have to find that screw. It could get into the gear drive or motors-so check everything you can and make sure it isn't inside your hull.

Again, once the screw shows-up try the CA trick, and if that doesn't work contact Traxxus at: 1-888-872-9927 for help their lines are on til 9PM CST during the week, or check their troubleshooting section of their website-it's easy to access through the Tower Hobbies mainsite under "companies."

If you have a hobby shop near you they may have a R/C car/boat hardware box selection that might have a suitable screw for your Traxxus's speed control take the boat with you and ask real nicely if they can help you out.

If there's no local 'shop you can check with, Radio shack might have something, but I can say for sure that they'll be able to helpout.

gee I wish I could find that screw I looked everywhere its gone...Is this speed control mechanical or electronic my friend wants to know because he said he may be able to fix it...There is a hobby shop in Sacramento but I live far from it I live in ValleySprings so I can't get there...

oh ya um the speed control is the xl something it isn't rotary does that make a difference??

I really dont mean to be rude, but you guys are dancing around the blatent ansner to this problem. Come on man yuor creating a huge deal out of this, and its so easy. Buy a new Speed control!!!!!!! in fact by and ESC you never hav a screw to loose there. Besides why spend so much time looking and worry about a stupid screw, when for 35.00 you could easily get an ESC and make your villian so much better!!!!!!!!!
