I´m between two engines to replace my baby bee. The options are a Norvel AME .061, and the AP engines .061

My concerns are: power (i´m going to put it on the MiniKaos by Dave... i saw a photo. What a nice model!), ease of adjustments, and over anything, reliability. I´m looking for a stable engine on the air, that has a nice transition from full throttle to idle, etc.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance, any input will be helpful!

Hello Sebastian,
I am a little surprised that you did not mention the BigMig .061 from Norvel. That is the only one I have worked with and I can certainly reccomend it. No experience with the others, so no comment.

that Norvel had an importer in Argentina until december, when the financial national problems started. Actually, the importer has a shipment of big migs on the naval port, that cant be entered to the commerce, because the devaluation (until december the parity was 1$=1U$S, now it is 3.40$=1U$S) set an incredibly high taxes, and the importer wont bring the engines.. if he does, the prie would be so high that it cant be selled to anyone.

So, neither bigmigs or AME engines will be availably i guess in the next 6 months, at least. So the only option available is the AP Wasp .061

Too bad i dont have another option. What do you think will be better for the minikaos?
I can get a baby bee with muffler throttle at $200 (of course local money), and an AP wasp .061 for $300. Does the AP worth the extra money??? what do you think?

Thanks in advance Dave!

Hello Sebastian,
Too bad about the BigMig's. I have never personally run a Wasp, but The things I have read are favorable. The Babe Bee is probably the weakest .049 of the bunch, and it is tricky to throttle well. Of coures, price is an object----
