Probably a dumb question, but when you mount a full roll cage to the chassis is it meant to replace the painted body or does the the painted body fit over the roll cage?

No it doesnt replace the body, it fits under it. Though you can run the truck with out a body more safely.

Thanks, but what do you mean 'you can run the truck with out a body more safely' ?

At the end of the day its up to you, you can run the roll cage under the body if its designed to work with the body your using or you can just use the roll cage and not the body.

Thanks.
I really like the look without the body. I think the bodies make the truck look cheap. Are there any disadvantages to running the truck with only the roll cage (no body)?

i run my e-maxx with only a roll cage, haven't seen a big difference in performance, roll cage is fine, considering it can "supposedly" hold on 2 a car being parked on it.

Good to know.
What about things like dirt. Does the truck get dirtier since the body isn't on?
Is it a pain to access the radio box and other items on the chassis?
Thanks again!
I was thinking of getting one for my E-Maxx. Are they heavy? Do they restrict performance because of the added weight? They're not cheap, so I have to be sure.

mine was made for a t-maxx, had 2 make my own battery mounting system(thanks metal shop) but now all the battery weight is on the back, but shock oil changes solved that. E-maxx are geared more towards torque, and i haven't noticed a big difference in acceleration.
Cool. Still, it adds almost a pound.

Might not be a good idea to go in mud or heavy dirt w/o the body on, it'll be a bitxh to clean.

I have a full rollcage on my Monster Pirate and EK. And it may be the difference between replacing this, that & the other or just brushing it off in a 35-40mph endo.
You probably won't even see the difference in performance. I didn't notice anything significant in my MP. As far as the EK goes, I haven't run it since I installed it, but, with a 70 engine, you could put a brick on it and not notice any loss in performance.

Got mine yesterday (from NewEraModels). Expensive, but very, very cool. It looks absolutely awesome without the body now!
Nah, I'll probably get a BL system instead:D

Soya, what is a BL system???
Brushless system. More power, speed, and runtime:D
