I'm considering buyone a used one, but it needs some parts (spur gear, knuckles, etc). Are parts still readily available for the V-Spec?

HDClown here i have to say that it is difficult to find parts for the v- spec because it is an old buggy unless you have a local hobby shop that has stock parts for the mirage and thats how i get my parts. I heard that there are rumors that the kit will soon be discontinued!!!!!!

Have a nice day!!!

Hi Everyone!

I hope someone can help me. I am desperately in need of a copy of a Mirage Vspec instruction manual. I've tried everywhere in the UK but no luck.:(

I recently bought a second hand bashed up in bits Thunder Tiger buggy and have no idea what it is(was told it is a Mirage Vspec). It was in two shoe boxes bought at a garage sale. There's no instruction of any kind. Thought it will be a good project to rebuild but now having second thoughts.

Thanks:)

A friend of mine I bashed with today owns one of those buggies. His dad handed it down to him. After being in the basement for quite some time, it managed to start up within a few tugs. Performance wise its really great. Im sure it could top 45mph. Great acceleration, looks cool, etc. Still managed to beat him in a drag race with my stock sport NT though ( :p ) but he could have the throttle settings back a bit low on his 3pdf or just wasnt pressing down on the trigger. We'll race again, prob sunday. I think other buggy parts may fit the V-spec. Gonna check that out.

hey guys i have amanual that i can share just dont know how to share it mabe make a copy or something and mail it dont know how to use my printer scaner, that might work any way just let me know Ill be happy to help :)
also i swaped the old engine fo ran os rg .21 with the pilot shaft for about $150 with shiping from www.towerhobbies.com But either the engene mounts or the engine will have to be modified to fit becase the holes on the motor are to far apart you could just dril them closer other wise it should fit with other minor ajustments like making shure the flywhel dosent hit the brake pad screw and the exast header to clear the rear shock absorber
Note if you are going to buy that engine, (I recomend it),It also comes with an air filter and the exahst header adapter I didint know so I bouhgt extras Good luck with the car. ;) :)

Keep us updated on how the car holds up.

I have a friend who has had one in his shed for a long time (not actually his) and thinking of getting her back on track again. Just hope there are no weak points since parts will be impossible to find.

Trying to get him into the hobby!!

Well, since I got it last september I replaced the bearings with ruber sealed ones and the radio box looked like it wasnt fuel proof so it was melted on the botoom I milled my self an aluminum one and added a fourth mounting screw It loks funy but works well Ill gaet a pic up here soon. Of my buugy. Im planing on building a roll cage for it cause it destroyed the body and the wing prety fast.

Also I would check the engine bearings If it sat in a shed chances are that theyr rusted.

Just dug mine out of the basement. Thinking of getting her going again. Needs a boby though. I thought the car was a Mirage.... is it the same as the VSPEC?? Is the VSPEC a newer and improved version of the Mirage?? I remember buying it brand new and it was simply called the Mirage. I probably bought this thing about 9 or 10 years ago and wonder if parts are still available.

Hi all,
Hey i didnt know i started a thread that got goin!!Well what with me not bein regular. If anyones still out there, and lookin for the plans i might try to dig them out.By the way my buggy is still in pretty good original shape, what with not having being used in years!!wanting to get it going again, need to get a new radio for it.as far as the parts are concerned i have been luck i guess not busted or worn anything out as yet.it might be thanks to the straight 80-20 fuel!pretty fast as is and besides no track and competition where i used to drive. Now though story is different with more trucks and buggies on our field here.Bought it in 2000.Still one of the best buys for me.Will try to post pics.
Local hobby shop has one lying around with him, unused thinking of trying to get it off him for spares.Would like to get a new body though for different paint scheme ,any ideas fellows. Thanks all. :)
