on esp's site it has a pic of the zilla 2 with 8 shocks mounted and the lwb suspension, it appears that the shocks are mounted to the axles somewhat like stock. and in another one of my posts a guy posted a pic of his zilla 2 (rockzilla) and he had 4 shocks clamped onto the suspension bars. can you do that with the parts that are included in the race kit or is that something he fabricated himself? oh and how do the shocks mount if you are using the stockers on the zilla 2?

Since you mention "rockzilla" and custom suspension work...i take it you are referring to my "rokzilla"...this truck?

If so...the suspension work was custom...they dont get 90 degree articulation out of the box ;)

I'll subscribe to this thread, ask away :D

Ok thanks guys, JordanG how did you do that? and can i do that with the stock shocks or should i go with a set of oil shocks? if oil what ones do you recommend?

I attached the upper portion of the shocks to the U-Brace using 1/2" cable clamps (i think, not positive on the side) and attached the lower portion to the four-link using 1/4" aluminum clamps...

I would suggest using oil shocks....stay away from the duratrax gold aluminum shocks...they leak like crazy...any oil shock you can get should work fine :)

aight, thanks i forgot to ask can i still use the stock steering setup if i dont get too crazy with the height and articulation?

I suppose you COULD...but the steering is going to be sucky, i dont see why it wouldnt work though.

jordan you no when you 1st put your shocks on the u-brace they moved up and down you need to tell him how you fix that so that he wont have the same prob and i think you just had a bad deal with the gold aluminum shocks i have some and they dont leak

possibly....maybe the seals in the shocks i had were screwed...but i've ditched them so...i know i'm not the only one to have problems with those shocks...and i think what you have are AE golds, not Duratrax Golds..

You will most likely have to find a way to keep the plastic cable clamps from sliding...i picked up a good tip from JeepFreak over at rcmt about using servo tape under the cable clamp to help keep them from sliding...my aluminum shock mount never slid...

Jarmel..whats the rc count now?
