Hello, i have one of those little Jetti mini chargers(set@150-300) and seem to be having problems, the lack of instructions doesn't help either. It says to charge at least 1 hour, after 15 minutes my 6 cell 7.2v 150mAH pack is extremely HOT. (voltmeter reads 8V +) I am using a car style trickle charger 12V/2A. The Jetti light stays on and doesn't flash at all. Any help?

Do not use that type of power supply, seems the jeti does not like rectified current. I used a power supply and the same thing happened. Use a 12 volt battery instead.

Hi criss,

The car charger will have an output of 13.8 to 14 volts output and is not filtered very well. I would recommend a 12 volt battery or power supply turned down below 12.5 volts.

Criss,

I would agree with both "Calmair" and "WD400". I have a Graupner Nicad/NiMH charger, and even with my regulated adjustable bench supply at home, which is very well filtered, I found out if I try to operate it much above 13.8 volts, the Graupner will alarm and then shut down. With your trickle charger, like they said, you are probably getting a "double whammy" from both from overvoltage and insufficient filtering.
